Of course i’d be thrilled with any result by Spuds. But I’d be very slightly satisfied if they just hold Citeh to one goal. Would keep our dream just very slightly alive. Edit: of course City went up 1-0 as I posted that.
One of the absolute truisms of life, and sports, is never, ever rely on Spurs to get a result. They will always fail. I don't have many positive things to say about Alex Ferguson, but his one accurate assessment ever was "Lads, its Tottenham."
So Spuds might not even get European football next season and Kane is still trophyless. You can take a player off of them but you can't take away the aura of failure they've built up over the generations.
Seriously, there's a YouTuber who calls himself "UrinatingTree" who occasionally posts videos about a clubs "Legacy of Failure". He'd have a treat on the failures Spuds have had in the 60 or so years since they've won a league title.
I couldn't watch this one live -- I got your Peacock right here, NBC Universal -- but I was following along here and on Fotmob. It was not an unexpected result (although I was hoping Big Ange had a rabbit in his hat). It is what it is. Anything can happen on the last day. There's nothing for it now but to beat Everton and see if the Hammers have a rabbit in their hat. However it goes, I'm proud of this squad. There are a lot of good things to come.
Today I’m thinking about the officiating disaster-class that was Newcastle away. It’s maddening that that match (or any others, but for me, that one) will decide a league title
Had an in-person meeting (what is this, 2019?) and missed the whole thing. I figured that would be for the best. At least it won't come down to goal diff.
