Yeah, if there's anything consistent in US soccer outside of MLS, it's that there is no consistency. Clubs come and go soooo easily....
Seems like UWS and WPSL have begun play already, while the amateur USL Women's league, rumored to start sometime this year, seems AWOL. UWS and UWS-L2 both kicked off in their respective Midwest conferences two weeks ago, with a total of four games (three in L1, one in L2). https://uwssoccer.com/2021-uws-season-kicks-off/ https://uwssoccer.com/2021-week-1-roundup-midwest/ The East and Southwest conferences then began play this past weekend as well: https://uwssoccer.com/2021-week-2-roundup/ In WPSL, ten teams played their opening matches this past weekend, and you *can* see the results on the standings page, but it's more than a little wonky... A sixth match was played in the Carolinas yesterday as well https://wpslsoccer.com/news/2021/05/14/the-wpsls-23rd-season-opens-today https://wpslsoccer.com/standings https://wpslsoccer.com/schedule In WISL... Carrie Taylor has now left the organization. pic.twitter.com/bQlqxTXxDk— WISLeague (@WISL_League) May 19, 2021 It's the league's only Tweet this entire month so far. Don't see this league getting even the slightest bit of momentum at this point, with just one team (whose brother club has yet to acknowledge it) and now no leader.
This is merely a pet project for one of Club 9 Sports members, Prutch's daughter. Not saying that's a bad thing, but with an already questionable and shaky NISA, one does have to ask if they prematurely want to establish a division 2 professional's women soccer league in a short time, with newcomer leaders that only has 10 minutes of real soccer experience. I highly doubt that WISL commence play in a years' time. Seems like a total organizational mess.

https://theathletic.com/2638005/202...7WAZY-8L_aQiD5aUupuVTfRBjPC2M8VPQcGcQ-7Ict1zI Seven years after the original version folded, the W-League will return. Sources told The Athletic that the USL is finalizing details for an upcoming women’s pre-professional league under that name, which will begin play in the 2022 season.
"pre-professional".... what a ridiculous and ingenuous term. It's an amateur league, they just want to sound fancy. It honestly feels like a slap in the face.
Most definitely not equivalent. "used" and "owned" aren't that far away from each other in meaning; "professional" and "amateur" are complete opposites.
Connecticut Pro Soccer Hartford Athletic is getting a "pre-professional" Hartford Athletic women's team. Details are still forthcoming but it looks to be a tier 4 level team similar to USL League Two (AC Connecticut) or NPSL (Hartford City). Hopefully, there are many more teams prior to the first game because it will be very difficult to afford national travel costs for a semi-pro women's team.
I second the aforementioned wonkiness of the WPSL site, and have tweeted about it to no avail. The "Plymouth Division" (entirely within my county) has gone, IIRC, from 6, to 5, to 2 teams in th span of a week. I would love to follow the division, but...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Athletic W-League will launch with eight teams, two of which will be in Minnesota and Washington, D.C.

Nipun Chopra, PhD @NipunChopra7 8h Lansing United President, Jeremy Sampson, confirms that this season was the team's final season in the UWS (or anywhere). The men's team played in the NPSL and then briefly in USL League One (as Lansing Ignite). 2013-2021 is (sadly) a heckuva run in the lower divisions.
I'm honestly kinda surprised there weren't more teams disappearing before the 2021 season began... Even with lower-division WoSo costing pennies compared to BroSo, I would have thought that owners losing capital after 2020 would've cut their losses when they could. The fact that both WPSL and UWS grew from 2020 to 2021 is quite impressive.

https://www.uslwleague.com/news_article/show/1177979 USL W League is poised for a month of continued expansion. The League is expected to welcome at least 10 new clubs throughout the month of August and into early September, progressing rapidly towards its projected membership target of 30 teams for its inaugural season in 2022.

New women’s league https://www.frontrowsoccer.com/2021/09/21/coming-in-2023-new-womens-league-usl-super-league/ COMING IN 2023: USL Super League Sep 21, 2021
This is my idea but I know it won’t happen, but they should have promotion and relegation between tier 1 and 2. If an NWSL team gets relegated they can only go down 2nd tier and no further down. They can try to fight back to get back to tier 1 and enjoy all the rights and privileges of NWSL.
Oh geez, not this again.... Pro/rel will never work in a franchise system, and especially not between two separate franchise systems.
