Hahaha.... Johnson has been there and done it poorly throughout his whole career. We wouldn't be any better with Johnson playing over Slonina or the other kid from Chicago. There is a handful of other goalkeepers that get thrown around on here. They all would be just fine.
I dont have a guy. Pretty sure I already made that clear. There is no need for caps and rosters to be wasted over and over on sub par guys. My preference would be the guys with the highest ceilings, but the younger guys may have other commitments.
Both those guys are with the Olympic team for some experience at the international level. Again - who are these guys with higher ceilings you’re taking over Johnson?
The names aren't important. MLS fans did this same thing 2019, 2020, etc. Everybody knows Johnson isn't ever going to be good enough. Let's move on. I dont trust MLS at all, but they talk about the two with u23s and then Brady, Celebntano, Calendar, etc. What little I have seen of those three, id probably take Brady. It doesn't matter who, just try to give the perception that they understand guys aren't good enough and are actively looking for replacements.
Interesting..... In the past 24 hours Costa Rica and Solvenia matched Berhalter's best results— Fußball Hank Hill 🇩🇪🇺🇲 (@BayernAusBoston) June 25, 2024
So, your solution to your own criticism of MLS callups is-more MLS callups? Did we just come full circle?
Hahahaha... "You should respect international media, this is World Cup this is not MLS Cup."USA's press conference comes to an abrupt end after only one question was allowed by an Iranian journalist#FIFAWorldCup pic.twitter.com/rJ0rECcF3c— Football Daily (@footballdaily) November 27, 2022
This probably goes too far. Gregg Berhalter https://t.co/3CE3Ofi08S— Florian Wirtz/Aitana Bonmatí Enjoyer (@xab1ball) June 27, 2024
It managed to transform an unfunny cartoon about a sarcastic cat to an actually funny cartoon about a lonely bachelor struggling with his mental health. Addition by subtraction FTW.
We know why they were shutting down questions by Iranian journalists at the World Cup. Its because they were asking Tyler Adams and Gregg Berhalter political questions. They asked Tyler Adams what its like to represent a "racist country." They were asking Gregg Berhalter about the US Navy's presence in the Persian Gulf. For heaven's sake. Those Iranian journalists were not there to ask soccer questions throughout the event. Remember..................Iran called for the USMNT to be kicked out of the World Cup.
If only us soccer fans could move on like those level headed MLS fans. Bruce Arena: The first US manager to lose the home qualifier vs Costa Rica since May 31st, 1985 - unsurprisingly the last time the US had missed the WC before 2018Also, responsible for losing to team that took 6 of possible 30 WCQ points and that was on an 7 match losing streak pic.twitter.com/PTZ0nqtvzD— LANK (@xx_SCRIM_xx) June 12, 2023
This is great. The Man in the Arena lists a bunch if reasons why the US won't win the WC. He offers no solutions, defends his bosses because what else can they do, and definitely doesn't go into any detail how MLS should be helping in all the other areas but actually is a hindrance. US soccer is going to be stuck for a long, long time.
How can you offer a solution to win the World Cup? Clone Mbappé, Messi and Cristiano and tell FIFA they are American citizens cause they were created in an American lab?
If you watch the video, it might clearer.... He basically gives his opinion what is wrong with US soccer. He describes obstacles to us becoming a better soccer nation. By providing that framework, he has broken the problem down to pieces that potentially could be solved if people wanted to advance the game in this country. He mentions standard things like culture, coaching, players playing at the highest levels, etc. This same guy calls USMNT fans toxic and mocks people who don't support MLS. MLS should want to solve all of these problems and it should be their responsibility based on how the game is structured in this country. If MLS truly wanted to be a top league they would be focused on all of these problems, but instead act like they are somebody else's problem. Instead, we have an MLS employee telling us to lower our expectations. Such a shitty organization.
