He lost his speed, which was so critical for him to make good late runs.

Is that actually factual that there was a difference in measured speed pre and post injury suffered warming up in Costa Rica?

I had not heard that before.

Let's just say he was jogging before Couva.I get if you've blocked that all from your mind.God knows I try.

Honestly had not heard/thought that. IIRC there was not a huge difference between his top speed or number of sprints at WC2010 and WC2014. From memory WC2014, which was after the accident, might have even been higher.

But that was in the dark days when we expected our A team to lose to Mexico.

Michael Bradley should be sainted for that Azteca goal alone.

Let's not forget the 2010 WCQer against Mexico. He scored both goals in a 2-0 win.

Actually, I wonder where he ranks all-time in terms of goals against Mexico. Donovan was the "Mexecutioner." But Bradley has 5 goals against Mexico. That's gotta be high on the list.

There are a lot of big USMNT names that never scored against Mexico. The surprising one is Clint Dempsey.

I think with the benefit of time, Bradley's impact on the program will be more celebrated.

    3rd all-time in caps, 2nd all-time in assists.................

Of his 17 goals for the USMNT, 11 of them came in games that mattered. WCQing, WC, Confederations Cup, Gold Cup.

THere was always the stigma of nepotism. Then there was the 2018 cycle. He's been made a little bit of a scapegoat because he was the captain. Understandable. But with time, I think folks will realize there was A LOT wrong with the program in the 2018 cycle.

dempsey did his part, preserving dos a cero 8 or 9 (who can keep up?) by sacrificing his own numbers. he saw the bigger picture.

I turned off the Couva match at the 85’ as I could see it wasn’t going to happen and couldn’t stand to watch anymore. All the players at that point except maybe Pulisic looked like they didn’t have the energy to get their feet out of the grass much less get a goal. So, I missed MB’s slow jog to take the corner but I don’t blame him as he would have sprinted if it was anywhere in his ability to do so at that moment.

Retires as a legend. I'll always think that his ankle injury really took some momentum off his European career and came at one of the worst possible moments for him. He broke down some doors that a lot of guys who came after him have rushed through.
