Beh. Kean was also crap at Everton as well. Though he had an excuse as the team was trash as well. Have no idea how he was just fine at PSG though. Level of league that much of a difference?
Players that must be played: GK (Gigi, Vicario-sub) CBs (Calafiori, Bastoni, Scalvini, Buongiorno) SBs (Dimarco, Udogie, Bellanova, Cambiaso) MFs (Barella, Tonali, Fagioli, Locatelli, Frattesi-sub) That looks very promising, the issue is our forwards. Who are the U21 strikers, the Esposito brothers and Colombo? The only pure winger I can think of is Gnonto and instead he was used as a false 9 in the last U21 games. They have to rely on their goals from him and Fabbian+Casadei from the midfield. Our forward lineup is truly depressing. We need guys to step the f up!
The two are nothing alike. Kean can also play LW while Scamacca is just a CF. Kean can't score goals, Scamacca scored a ton this season, just not for the national team.
Written that, if Arsenal or wherever he lands use him as a LB, stands to reason so would Italy, right? I can see Italy use him as a CB in September window regardless of where he plays in Pre-Season. Also need Scalvini to recover his ACL without any setbacks. I really don't want to see half these fools again. ********.
Dunno. They scored all 5 of theirs with aplomb. All of their guys take PK's for their clubs and this is with Kane on the bench. Who would have Italy put on that take them for their clubs? Likely would have lost. Interestingly enough Saka went low to GK's Left as he did in the 2021 Final. Was surprised. If it was against Gigio, would he have even stepped up? Would he go back there?
Good news. S. Esposito has been signed by Empoli. He played well at Samp. Time for him to take the next step.
He is a classic example of what is wrong with why Italian players lose out in the years between ages 19-22 in crucial development. It's established the Under programs are back on track after Sacchi messed them up. There is no reason why Esposito couldn't have been at his parent club, Inter, the last year if not 3 years. Instead what we have is Beppe Marotta interviewed (video posted here last week) and says that Italy has no talents. But who did Marotta bring in as his 3rd Striker? That Balkan meathead Arnautovic. The same player that spurned at least 2 chances to add on goals in the UCL 1st Leg against Atletico. Eventually lost in PK's in Leg 2. Serves them right. I guarantee that Esposito would have put at least 1 of those away to give them the cushion going into Leg 2. This is what Serie A has become. Italy has 2 current Under titles, was the highest performing Euro team at the last U20, for 1 more week is the current Euro Champions. But Marotta. No talents. Balkan meatheads incoming. 3rd rate Argentines with an Italian Passport, Africans with beards passed on as 15 Year Olds. But Serie A marketing department -- TIM Serie A Made in Italy. More with the media.. last WC they tried passing Serbia as the team repping Serie A given all the players in Italy. WTF? What a demented group of people. Never existed a group of people so hellbent on their demise.
Beppe the truth though. Master at building scudetto teams. Italian clubs like atalanta, bologna, and sassuolo don't do anyone favors overpricing players
The truth? So Balkan players (a wide term anyways) have such great results in their teams (outside Croatia)? Their best players do so well? What did Arnautovic contribute considering Austria topped their difficult group? What did Arnautovic do for Inter except screw up their advancement? What did Vlahovic do for Serbia last month? Vanja Milinkovic-Savic steal a match in goal? There is a reason why the EC trophy will he lifted by a Western European team yet again. Sucking off Balkan players except some Croatian ones (that are past it and don't even play in Italy anymore) is dishonest. EDIT: Also, players like Brozovic, Perisic, SMS when they were all in Italy, Vlahovic now all make the league pretty good. THESE are the players we want so I'm not even referring to them. Speaking of the 3rd rate ones they bring in and immediately send on loan. Those players can be found anywhere and do not improve the league.
Also, who says only Italian players are overpriced? The same Atalanta you cited got 80M for the Dane, Rasmus Hojlund. Let's not even bring up who ManI also got fleeced by Ajax over that degenerate woman beater, Antony. But yeah, Italians are overpriced.
@lt22677 Pensi di riuscire a scoprire quali giocatori non volevano Nicolò Fagioli in squadra? Questa informazione è stata scoperta?
Why are Milan transfering Origi and Toure to their under 23 team. Isnt this suppose to be a development team. Their pushing players they dont want to the Under 23's so they can leave. Of course they would exploit this situation and have no intention of using the team as a development platform.
🗣️ New Milan Coach Fonseca: “Right now I know we need many Italian players, that's why we can count on our Milan Futuro (U23). We want to be an example. I already know some players, we need young Italian talents, as well as Italian footballers in general”. pic.twitter.com/6Z8Chm0alK— Italy Focus 🇮🇹 (@theitalyfocus) July 8, 2024
he was super young at Everton he should not have been in that position yet. he was a player that needed to learn how to play but he was cashed in on because of the EPL tv money. he was never going to learn anything there.
He was awful at the Maurice Ravello Tournament (formerly the Toulon Tournament) earlier this summer. At this point, he’s a bluff. In my opinion, if you put all three of the Esposito brothers together, you might get a decent Serie A player. Raccomandati.
I agree, I'm happy a foreign coach has said this. I wouldn't have expected it given Milan's roster development over the last several years
