We need Sonabert, the Muppet Man, to weigh in as to when he wants to start.

Sonabert is the only one we haven’t heard from yet

Has he responded to rejoin the sand league? I didn’t see anything from him recently and not sure if he was active at the end of the most recent season. Hopefully he is still playing, the muppet man is a cool guy

I haven't heard from sonabert since his confirmed intent to continue. He's the only Sand Manager not to have joined our FPL Sand League 2020-21.

He hasn’t logged on to this site since January- Hal can you contact him again?

Is there someone else who is available as a back up to join Sand in case he doesn’t respond? Hopefully we will respond, but if he hasn’t been on this site for 7-8 months now, it’s probably unlikely that he is planning to join

Did he contact you with his intent to continue because I don’t see his confirmed intent in this site anywhere?

I think he was inactive near the end of the last season (playing injured players in starting lineup, etc). I think it’s safe to say we need another manager at this point unless he surfaces from his lily pond (sorry, couldn’t help it) hopefully he will respond to this with his typical witty reply

I left Sonabert a voice mail, requesting he check in. Yes I called Australia.

I'm actually playing in an online duplicate bridge tournament Thur through Sun and wouldn't mind waiting until Monday to start. I'm ready now, but I won't be able to help alert others to keep the draft moving. That said, I should be able to make my picks without delaying the draft.

He might have disappeared. He wasn’t active last year. I have some interested managers from Reddit.

I reviewed the Intent To Continue and the Organizing Thread and I can't see where Sonabert confirmed his interest. I saw Cribmad post that the Sheer Muppetry Eliminator would be back and I think I marked that down as Sonabert confirmed.

Ergo, (Latin for therefore), if we don't hear from Raurie by Friday midnight, EDT, I'd be open to giving Sonabert's spot to someone else. Tarvinidos, if you have someone from your Reddit contacts that wants to play, have him/her post in our Sand Organizing Thread. Come midnight Friday, we'll have either heard from Raurie, aka Sonabert, or we'll give the last Sand spot to the first to post he/she is willing to stay active the entire season. As the draft order has already been set, I'll entertain a motion to keep it and have the newcomer take Sonabert's spot in the announced draft. If enough managers think we should redo the draft order, I can do that also.

A possible replacement just posted in the All Rocks thread so that certainly seems doable to me

I sent a PM to Hal as indicated with all my credits. Btw still I have some doubts on how the draft will be made: I thought you were using draft.premierleague.com but as I read about the chips I suppose I'm wrong.

We do use the official site and the same scoring and pricing of players but we allow a captain and all the chips except the free hit (which doesn't really work in a draft league)

The biggest difference is we do the draft here and it takes about a week on average as we have players in various time zones. We have been doing this a long time and it's a great group with good banter and some contests and cups thrown in -- all free of course :)

We are more manual. We use the official game and run an actual real time draft. During the season we administer on this forum. See this thread for rules:
    https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/all-rocks-draft-rules-and-transfers.1991518/

So each team will be in their Division and also the overall All Rocks league with all 24 teams. We use that league to run our competitions that we run on the thread.

Ok, but how are the points calculated and other stuff? Do you have some software or what? Sorry for asking but it's not that clear to me atm.

The points are the same as the official site so we have a mini league set up and it shows the points on the site - so it is like the regular game except we have a draft here and post our teams on that site in our mini league

We keep a google sheet so we can see who has each player so people don't transfer someone in who is taken and we have a transfer thread here to monitor transfers thru the season - those are first come first served after the draft is over

We have three divisions here so we have promotion and relegation in place for next season

Ok guys I understood how you do it. I don't know, I'm afraid that it's a little bit too difficult to me to manage, and that I won't be able to respect the commitment. I'm looking for something easier and more "automatic". Thank you anyway for your attention and good luck for your league!
