On as objective a perspective as I can muster, it appears to me that the difference between the two candidates is well shown in their closing speeches and demeanor. Lumpy is relentlessly negative, pessimistic, America is a hellhole, it has been taken over by gangs of marauding illegal immigrants who are variously busy eating cats, dogs, ducks and geese while also carving up “beautiful 16 year old girls”, taking over apartment blocks, neighborhoods, entire cities. The country is full of no-go areas where you get shot going to the store. Other countries are taking advantage of the US trade policies while emptying their prisons and asylums into the US. Basically life in these United States is completely unlivable and you’re lucky if you make it to 30 and raped only a few times by non-white criminals. Harris’ message is upbeat, we got this, we can do it, today is good, tomorrow will be better. Nothing hugely unusual, a typical politician’s sentiments. I’m wondering if just on an reactionary impulse, Lumpy is going to lose too many who are tired of being told how bad it is, when they can’t see this Mad Max world of fires in oil drums on every corner with crazed goons shooting people for fun?
Here is an (biased) article on the heels of the Iowa poll - still a good read with useful info: https://newrepublic.com/article/187...rld-rattled-polls-show-undecideds-move-harris
I think at the MSG debacle he said the NY subway was so bad ppl have a 75% chance of being killed while riding on it?
I for one will be happy when this dumpster fire of an election process is over, and then overtaken by the fear of what the eventual losing side's reaction will be. Crazy times in America.
Yeah, I can just see Harris leading a sniper team of Seals into the Capitol if she loses. No prisoners.
"Drain the swamp" was originally a Mussolini quote according to historian of fascism Dr. Ruth Ben-Ghiat too.
Errr...not who I was referring to, but if Trump wins there's sure to be unrest in a number of big urban areas.
While that is true - However, when the original question is/was - why would anyone ignore the madness/danger/inherent instability involved/utter lunacy of this cretin and actually vote for him.... it seems to undercut the basic reasoning of "because of money" If you might think that you are going to be marginally better off, wallet-wise, then I could see those types voting the wallet-vote - but when your wallet is already over-bulging, surely those concerns would get behind in any queue of importance to any fully rational mind's observation (money aside) basically put- if God offers an Ark before the flood, sensible people don't decide to wait upon their demand for the QE2.....
I believe that is where you are mistaken. An extremely small sample, but I know people who do exactly that.

I’ve mentioned Nevada and early voting before. Jon Ralston who is the absolute go-to guy bar none for all things Nevada voting professed himself stunned by the way the early voting was breaking for Lumpy. He called it a unicorn year, it was so unusual. But it didn’t obviate the count. Lumpy leading and looking good. Ralston has updated his reporting. The unicorn aspect still remains, Lumpy is still ahead, but he now sees Nevada breaking for Harris. Now, no prognosticator is infallible, no one in right all the time, but if you were to back one person to predict Nevada, it has to be Jon Ralston. In unrelated news, Tucker Carlson now says abortions cause hurricanes.
From the man himself: “The key to this election has always been which way the non-major-party voters break because they have become the plurality in the state. They are going to make up 30 percent or so of the electorate and if they swing enough towards Harris, she will win Nevada. I think they will, and I’ll tell you why: Many people assume that with the GOP catching up to the Democrats in voter registration that the automatic voter registration plan pushed by Democrats that auto-registers people as nonpartisans (unless they choose a party) at the DMV had been a failure for the party. But I don’t think so. There are a lot of nonpartisans who are closet Democrats who were purposely registered by Democrat-aligned groups as nonpartisans. The machine knows who they are and will get them to vote. It will be just enough to overcome the Republican lead – along with women motivated by abortion and crossover votes that issue also will cause.”
Informal and anecdotal polls are indicating a 9 point swing(!!) away from Lumpy to Harris by Puerto Ricans/Hispanics in PA. That’s enough. Also, a Hispanic PAC, NuestroPAC, texted 87,000(!) Puerto Ricans in PA who have yet to vote. Those are scary numbers for Lumpy. His campaign and his first born, Lumpy Jr., were already decrying being outstripped by women voters in PA prior to Nuremberg.
why were you frikken leaning towards trump in the first place?? (the Puerto Ricans I mean) also - it's kind of interesting - Lumpy hasn't made any effort in the last week to undo the damage from the KKK rally - which is just odd - or reminds us how much of an egomaniac he is.
He did. He pulled his usual. I don’t know him, never heard of him, no idea what he was doing there. Have you seen the size of Arnold Palmer’s dick?
I'm not saying you are wrong or even that I am not mistaken. I'm saying it's illogical. I'm saying that (a money bump - into the pocket of someone believing they need it enough -aside) to vote for the possibility of your own freedom being limited otherwise whne you don't need the extra money, and don't need to make that vote for money, is not rational. I would point anyone of those folks you know who disagrees into the past lime-lights of such luminaries as Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Boris Berezovsky, for an instantiation of the problem writ large
Well, I'm willing to give him that one since it's been used by people from both parties for the last couple of decades at least...
How is this election interference? and why highlight it? (btw I don't know if it's a real tweet - but sure seems like a Trump thing).
