As a supporter, one can be disappointed in the outcome, and still not bemoan "conspiracies." Its football, and in the overarching majority of the times, they get it right. And in extremely less-frequent occasions, they get it wrong. In those far less-frequent occasions, sometimes the incorrect call goes against your team, and sometimes the incorrect call goes for your team. It happens, its football. [But again, mark these recent few pages of this thread for if/when a call goes against madrid, and the subsequent meltdowns.]
Imagine dominating the league based on these millimeter offsides and rant when it does its job against you. Shameless bunch.
They are dominating the League based on an incredibly efficient offense. People think they found the gotcha factor with the offside trap, but the overwhelming amount of goals they score is the real difference maker. Look at how they are wildly exceeding expectations in efficiency: Defensively they are basically rated around the same as we are. The difference is the wild amount of goals they put on the board.
Hummels gets new hope at Roma after they fire the coach that benched him and he's allegedly told to wait until the new coach joins them to assess the situation. They'll be on their third hire this season.
This is true and the eye test also confirms it. Still there are few strategic points in the game that changes the flow of the game. Not conceding at early minutes. The other team not equalizing early after you scored the first. The game may end in a 4-0 win but that strategic point leads to it.
What stands between us is the goal difference. Their defense isn't pulling any trees out, compared to ours at least.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ier-League-footballer-probed-rape-claims.html That's not very nice.
Yeah, I took a big deep dive on how we compare against them and while we have a heap of problems in certain areas, what Barcelona are doing is more of a case of maximum efficiency rather than strategy. The negative for us is thst even if you use averages to reduce them to earth, they are still projected ahead of us. But it's just not some superpower the way people see it right now.
Basically, what you are saying that we see from Dani Olmo and Rafinha is overachieving and that does not characterize their abilities throughout their careers so far?
Raphina actually operates at career typical efficiency levels, he just gets more touches and attention. Guys like Olmo, Torre, Pedri are over performing on the scoring front. Lewandowski also with a nice going. On the other hand we are nuclear in scoring. Everybody but three players are negative in efficiency, that includes guys like Modric and our defenders missing crucial headers. Of course Mbappe's Barca performance tanks both his and the teams overall rating.
Personally I have been a Barca fan since childhood. I am not gonna lie, I miss the golden days of Bartomeu.
I don't recall a single wrongly disallowed goal in favour of Barca this season. Those offsides were small but spot on every time. This one is not spot on, it's a terrible decision hence why it's get criticism. Nothing shameless there really.
It's ok this offside was also small but spot on. so it's 100% being shameless crying about the same thing.
Probably a 'too soon' comment after the floods, but I like to see Valencia down in 20th place after all the crap we've taken from them the last few years. Hope they get relegated.
Whether we like it or not, they are a pretty historic club in Spain. It's a loss to see them turn to dust.
And other historic clubs like Racing Santander and Sporting Gijon are doing well and projected to return to take their place. When you have leaders like this, i don’t mind the ‘loss’ of their history: 🗣️ Paco Roig, former Valencia president: "I call Madrid the Real Immigrant. Madrid has eight blacks, two white foreigners and one Spaniard, Carvajal. He [Vinicius] may be a great player, which I believe he is, but he is a sh*tty person." 🤬@relevo pic.twitter.com/3jsW9g0ztD— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) September 23, 2024 Odds are they get themselves out of the relegation zone though
