Interesting articles on the scheduling challenges facing the three World Cup hosts. https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/me...-canada-quality-opponents/blt4ec35d406ae6ae89
A poster here: https://www.canadiansoccernews.com/...25-group-stage-¼finals-general-thread/page/9/ believes that yes, a USA win vs Mexico down in Guadalajara would be enough to guarantee the #USMNT second place in the CONCACAF rankings, regardless of what happens in the Canada vs Panama match.
After tonight's results in Group B, Jamaica wins the group with 8 points, GD of +3; Honduras finishes second with 7 points, GD of +4. As far as I can figure, any result between Costa Rica and Guatemala makes Jamaica the second placed group winner and the United States' opponent in the Quarterfinals if the US remains the third ranked seeded team. If the US were to move up to second, the opponent could be Honduras, Costa Rica, Suriname, even Martinique. I think Guatemala must finish behind Honduras on goal differential if it finishes second in Group A. We should know tomorrow night or Wednesday morning.
The #USMNT cannot face Costa Rica, as they would be either ahead of Jamaica on goal difference with a win or below Honduras on points with a draw or a loss. Assuming that that Maplebanana dude's point model on the Voyageurs forum is correct, the only possible teams the USA can face now are •Jamaica •Honduras •Suriname [they've got to win by 3 goals or better (except a 3-0 win)] •Martinique [incredibly unlikely, they've got to beat Guadeloupe by 5 or more goals and hope Suriname don't do their thing] Has anyone found a definitive CONCACAF points calculator?
Thanks for the clarification. The opponent will almost definitely be Jamaica or Honduras, which has been playing its Nations League matches in Tegucigalpa instead of San Pedro Sula. I hope we know the opponent, date, time and venue as soon as possible to facilitate travel arrangements.
The US opponent in the CNL QF will be Jamaica. The top four teams in the Concacaf Rankings maintained their positions (Mexico, Canada, United States, Panama). Concacaf has not announced the match ups. The US Soccer Schedule page lists Jamaica as the opponent for the home match on November 18. The Jamaica Football Federation has no news about its home QF match.
The ranking page was updated: https://www.concacaf.com/rankings/men-s-national-team/ And then CONCACAF announced the matchups: https://www.concacaf.com/nations-le...ons-league-quarterfinal-and-play-in-matchups/ Thursday/Monday for the USA.

I just am going by what US Soccer has on their website. Usually they put a TBD up for times that aren't confirmed but this time they have one listed. Doesn't mean it isn't wrong or won't change, but that's why I threw it in rather than putting TBD.
Did they get banned from hosting night games? I wonder if they had problems with their lighting system again on Tuesday. https://www.jamaicaobserver.com/2024/10/01/in-the-spotlight/
Jamaica's October 14th match vs. Honduras kicked of at 8 PM local time. I expect a night game on November 14th. We will see.
Further confirmation that England plans on coming here for two friendlies in June pending The World Cup Qualifying Draw https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...eads-clubs-friendlies-USA-strike-threats.html Though it's buried in an article about how much it might piss the clubs off lol
So if England are drawn into a group of 4 teams they would be available but if they are drawn into a group of 5 teams things wouldn't be as clear? The UEFA draw is December 13th https://www.uefa.com/european-quali...fiers-for-the-2026-fifa-world-cup-all-you-ne/
