I haven't heard anything but I'll let you know. The Copa isn't coming here though, so are Rapids fans likely to get a code?
Yeah, that makes sense...didn't think about that. Thanks! Though if anyone deserves early access to see good soccer it's Rapids STH

"Two separate but equal teams" - Alexi Lalas after the France v Austria match. I'm guessing that he's not up on Plessy v Ferguson

Anyone see the outlandish 15 minutes of stoppage time in the second half of Argentina v Morocco at the Olympics? And of course Argentina equalized in the 106th minute of the game. Honestly I think it's a damn scandal. It was a VERY normal second half in terms of the amount of stoppages. There were two goals, yes, but there were no VAR checks and no prolonged injuries.
I didn't see it but from what I've heard there was an excessive amount of time-wasting by Morocco. Not sure that justifies 15 minutes though. (Also notable is that the other two early games today had 11 and 12 minutes of stoppage apparently. We are back on the WC 2022 stoppage-time rules it seems.)
I did see a FIFA report of top Euro leagues that "running game play" was down in the 60's minutes before Covid.
Might just be me, but I had a good chuckle at the French fans all waving white flags behind the goal. I know the flag had writing on it but from a distance it looked like a mass surrender.

Really cool experience! I had a similar experience in 2018 on my first and only visit to Japan. Damn COVID killed my planned return trip! It was affordable and the experience was really about the fans. By pure luck, I saw the Osaka Derby between Gamba Osaka and Cerezo Osaka. I’ve attended matches at nearly every tier of German football and this Osaka Derby maybe exceeded or at the bery least rivaled those German matches. . Very different than some of German derbies I’ve attended. Gamba and Cerezo supporters were loud, boisterous, full of passion but it never had the feel it was going to be boil over like I’ve witnessed in Germany. It’s was respectful but that’s also a cultural thing in Japan. Both teams were sitting middle table at the time and I was surprised at the quality of play. I don’t know what I expected but it was a really, really cool experience and I’m glad you had that chance. It sounds like you loved it. Man… i want to go back to Japan!
