Sigh. Never thought we'd need to do another one of these, but here we are again. Kick it off with Trump's upcoming agenda: Though some of Trump’s largest agenda items — tax breaks and Affordable Care Act changes — will take congressional approval, many won’t. The Trump administration will be able to change immigration enforcement, impose tariffs, change health regulations, intervene in overseas wars and shape the education system without help from the Hill. Armed with a better understanding of government, Donald Trump is expected to pursue a bigger agenda, faster than he did in his first term. The policies that will define Trump’s second term👇https://t.co/CRpsAKh4V6 pic.twitter.com/QLj5A4O4gR— POLITICO (@politico) November 6, 2024
Okay so just off the top of my head. Most of what Trump promised will not come to fruition. He will either forget or back off or half-ass everything he plans to do. Purging the federal workforce, pulling hundreds of thousands of soldiers out of Europe, and establishing concentration camps all sound like work, and he hates work. So the things that are easy but evil are on the agenda. My first bet is -- assuming Republicans hold a razor-thin House majority again -- they push through tax cuts and make spending cuts to Medicaid and Social Security.
A lot of this is going to depend on who's in his administration. If it's the same type of clown car as last time, none of the complicated stuff will get done, because they'll spend all their time in-fighting. If they get more competent people in from the conservative think-tanks, they might be more done.
If the conservative think-tank world were competent then Alito's decisions wouldn't read like fanfic.
No responsible Rs left so we'll get Tucker, Elon, Miller (both of them), RFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard plus Vance's Silicon Valley chodes. Someone like Liddle Marco or Lindsey would be considered normal Rs in Trump 2.0
The Federalist Society is very competent when it comes to getting judges appointed to important positions. Whatever you may think of Alito, he's ideologically exactly what the conservative think tanks were looking for.
Well, Libs, there's always this: Perhaps I started my criminal investigations of Trump a bit too late. But I'm comfortable that my successor Aileen Cannon will keep them going.by Merrick Garland— New York Times Pitchbot (@DougJBalloon) November 6, 2024
Have you heard the term "do not comply in advance" as a means of resisting authoritarianism? The NY court is going to comply in advance.
I don't think incompetence or laziness or infighting is going to save us this time, grasshoppers. There aren't any adults in the room - they all endorsed Harris. Stephen Miller is going to be in charge of purging the non-whites from the country. Tucker Carlson will be in charge of mansplaining the legislature and removing all protections for non hetero males. Elon Musk is going to be in charge of firing most of the government workforce, perhaps even entire agencies - starting with eliminating the Federal Highway Administration and privatizing NASA I'd assume. RFK Jr. will run the National Institutes of Health with a deepening interest in brain worms. Yeah, Doomed.
I suspect anything he can do via executive order - with a nice big show of him signing his name to it from the oval office - is on the table. His "people" have a few months to get those all drafted up nice and pretty on day one. But yeah, that legislative crap like tax cuts might take a few days. Let's see what executive orders can do.
His last inaugural speec was rather rambling. I'm having a hard time imagining how bumbling it is going to be this time. Will hordes of his supporters come to DC for his inauguration or will he lie about crowd sizes?

Well that's one way of spinning it, young lady ASU student tells MSNBC that she voted for Trump because she likes that he doesn't plan to ban abortion pic.twitter.com/zpM5fuYUeJ— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) November 6, 2024
"Huh? Project 2025? Never heard of it" DJT Yes, we know. That’s why the Project 2025 group congratulated Trump.https://t.co/J2WxPlHrGq pic.twitter.com/PATZGQZMf3— PatriotTakes 🇺🇸 (@patriottakes) November 6, 2024
As expected, his spokespersons are already walking back the deportation claims. They are are now saying it's going to be a phased approach, with phase 1 only focused on illegals who have committed crimes. Essentially, they have no plan and never did.
In summary: Seniors voted to gut Social Security. Men voted for their wives and daughters to die from miscarriages.Immigrants voted for deportation raids. Poor people voted for tax cuts for billionaires. Women voted to have fewer rights than men. Police voted for a convicted felon. pic.twitter.com/oAcIglPEdV— Critter (@asclepiasyriaca) November 6, 2024
