their FIFA ranking is very low but how about their real strengh.... real position in Caribbean? do they have full-time players?
I really dont know last time they played they either tied or lost against Bermunda and Angola, i dont really follow the PRNT ill ask around for it due.
these are Puerto Rico's last 5 matches stretching back to 2003 according to what fifa.com has down as official matches Puerto Rico 2:5 (0:2) Grenada Surinam 1:1 (1:0) Puerto Rico Trinidad and Tobago 5:0 (2:0) Puerto Rico Puerto Rico 0:2 (0:1) Guadeloupe Gaudeloupe 4:0 (0:0) Puerto Rico
Its to my knoledge that they have played more reacently against other NT for the qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games of 2006 but i dont have the results

Can American-Puerto Ricans play for the PRNT? Can one just have Boricua blood in order to be allowed to play for them? Or does one have to be born in the island? Or does have one need to have lived in the island for a "X' amount of yrs.? Metro
To my understanding anybody with Boricua blood can play it dosnt matter if you have live in the states all your life. Puerto Rican and American- Puerto RIcan have the option of playing either in the PRNT or the USNT but after you go for one you cant play in the other.
True, true, thanks! So, in theory, that would work to PR's advg., considering the player-pool available. The only problem is having kids interested in playing. Metro
Well its actually goes against us cause the USNT will take any good player that comes out of PR because lets face it a young kid would rather play in the US where he has a imideat chance to play and even maby get into the WC and so he could be seen by int teams, US has the advantage. But down here where doing the best we can to assemble the best PRican out there. The new Federation president seems very enthusiatic and is doing his best to make the sport better on the island.
Well, what I meant was that an avrg. Boricua that could theoretically play for the US won't do so, but he could probably be of much help to the PRNT, no? Metro
This is a glimpse of players with boricua ascendancy or born here http://www.fedefutbolpr.com/galeria/galeria.htm
Just to mention that this is an U-23 tournament, so is not the full national side for each of these countries.
https://www.frontrowsoccer.com/2021/02/25/next-challenge-sarachan-named-puerto-rican-mens-coach/ Former U.S. men’s national team coach Dave Sarachan has a new challenge – as Puerto Rican national coach. Sarachan will take over the reins in time for the Caribbean side’s quest in World Cup qualifying. Puerto Rico will kick off its first-round qualifying run in Concacaf Group F March 24 against Saint Kitts and Nevis. It’s group includes Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana and Bahamas.
It's an interesting move for PR. Sarachan is a decent coach and he's bringing Daryl Shore with him. If they can recapture some of the magic they had with the Chicago Fire, that would be grand. It's disappointing that the hire wasn't made a couple of months ago so that the team would have had two friendlies to get used to the new coach, and he them. I'm wondering why Zarek Valentín isn't in camp. I assume it's because he's starting his season with Houston Dynamo soon, but he's one of the more experienced players, so it would be good to have him.

They have improved a TON imo. The last two WC Qualy games they tied El Salvador (in El Salvador) and put 8 goals on Anguilla. They have some talented young kids on the squad. Jeremy De Leon, Leandro Antonetti, and Wilfredo Rivera are niiice. @1:54 Antonetti scores vs 2 Atletico Madrid defenders
