The goal was good and that puts him at the top of the list for now.

But my god he was horrendous in every other facet against Jamaica.

That's pretty good company. He's now only five goals from being in the all time top 10. Landon had Clint (and vice versa) to help each other so Pulisic needs another player or two to take some scrutiny away from by scoring regularly.

  3. Actually you nailed it with option b).
De Jong is the undisputed nr 1, especially for his tactical awareness of great value for Bosz. The fans see that, but many of them also see Pepi's goal contribution and have the feeling there's space for more playing time.
The problem is that when LdJ leaves the pitch, also tactical acumen drops, and Dutch clubs are very tactically managed, so they will respond on that change. Pepi is nowhere near LdJ tactical level, which is no surprise given the difference in experience, so opponents have a plan ready to apply when LdJ is swapped by Pepi.
Despite that, fans expect a growing number of minutes given by Boz.

Hard to make a case that he's not atop the food chain now. Balo, Sargent, Wright, and Vazquez are gonna have to go get it.

    So Cal
Thank you for that response. Has there been any discussion amongst the fans about playing both at the same time or is that generally not considered to be an option, or has the discussion mostly been about how the time should be distributed between the two?

  7. Well, to be honest there's not alot of discussion going on as PSV is winning in it's current constellation. So it's more about granting Pepi minutes than a discussion among fans.

Goals in three straight games for Pepi, the second time he's done that with the USMNT

    Pepi just keeps scoring.

He has a goals/cap rate of 0.39 for the USMNT.

Higher than Landon Donovan, Brian McBride, Jozy Altidore, etc.

Amongst core guys, only Pulisic (0.43) and Dempsey (0.40) are higher.

Its not like Pepi has 5 caps. He has 33.

He's now cleanly the 3rd highest active goal-scorer for the USMNT after Pulisic and Ferreira.

Well since I have to clarify, the fact that many of our favorite athletes are also people whose political stances may not coincide with our own leads to a situation of cognitive dissonance for many fans.
I invite you to our politics board, where we discuss substantive political issues. But I advise not calling names in there.

This is a place where we go to not discuss politics. We can find ways to talk and enjoy something and prove that just because we disagree on certain things doesn't mean we can have a entertaining time discussing others. So please stick to soccer here and enjoy arguing something we can all agree on.
