Now that the 2024 MLS Season has ended for some teams in the league, roster moves are starting to happen, Here's a place to discuss such goings on. D.C. United are the latest club to announce roster decisions, and boy, they have almost completely overturned their roster in three windows.- Only 5 players remain w/ 1st team since GM Mackay took over- 30 (!) players departed since last winterhttps://t.co/xgI4WWPReo— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) October 26, 2024 Quinn is here to stay!Philadelphia Union sign Homegrown midfielder Quinn Sullivan to a new contract.📝 https://t.co/NvPh8TOAc4#DOOP pic.twitter.com/WWLFGz7d95— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) October 23, 2024 BREAKING: Portland Timbers club legend Diego Chara has a signed a contract extension, GM Ned Grabavoy says."Diego Chara will have a place in this club as long as he wants to," Grabavoy said.Chara, 38, is BACK for 2025. pic.twitter.com/UyDfTHIs7Q— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) October 25, 2024

Lucho Acosta, reflecting on the 2024 season, says that this could be the end for him at FC Cincinnati. Not certain, but said tough moments for him, his family. And some frustration.— Pat Brennan (@PBrennanENQ) November 9, 2024
Kevin Denkey of Cercel Brugge is reported to be going to FC Cincinnati for 14 million Euros. Denkey is a strong forward who had a great season last year. This year, he is slightly lower. He could become a terror of MLS defenses.
Sources: FC Cincinnati nearing club-record deal to sign Togo int'l forward Kevin Denkey from Cercle Brugge. Not done yet.Fee in region of $15 million, would be one of the most opulent in MLS history.Denkey, 23, won Belgian League Golden Boot last year. https://t.co/ZzVMXE7Tva pic.twitter.com/jFgHXbUlKq— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) November 11, 2024
A little more about the Denkey transfer. He came to the US last weekend and missed a League match where Cercle lost 5-0 to Anderlecht. FCC wants him as soon as possible to begin "Well, Cercle wants to complete the deal as soon as possible. Especially since no agreement was reached last summer about Denkey with Real Sociedad, among others, who offered 12 million. Waiting until January was therefore not an option now. Any risks - read: injuries - that could stand in the way of a deal are thus avoided. And Cincinnati also wanted to get going now. Playing against Anderlecht and traveling to Cincinnati during this international break was also not possible for Denkey. Because the Togolese national team demanded his presence for the international matches against Liberia and Equatorial Guinea."
Luciano Acosta may not have been available for the local press today, but I believe that he made time for ESPN Argentina:"Obviously, it has always been a dream to play for Boca (Boca Juniors). I left at a young age, and it’s something I have always wanted to do and hope to do.… pic.twitter.com/U4qFQlW97R— José Roberto Nuñez (@JoserNunez91) November 14, 2024
This kid better be MVP level good for that kind of outlay. I'm surprised MLSHQ didn't nix this one, as it definitely will make it more difficult (IOW more $$$) for the rest of the league to make transfers. They paid what? $8M for Boupendza??? How much did they pay for Brenner???
This is a pretty crazy transaction. If dude doesn’t win the golden boot next year and Cincinnati finish top 3, then this will be a failure. This beats out the Toronto Italian signings, right? De key had better be at least as good as Giovinco!
