Will Daniels (Leicester) & Aidan Evans (Fulham) called up for Canada's U17s. Daniels was born in Canada & has been with them before while Evans is a first-time call-up & I'm not sure how he qualifies.
Did we already mention Alexander Walton (2006) left back playing for Barcelona? Hasn’t been signed there long but has some UEFA Youth League appearances. As reported by Sport, the Blaugrana have signed 17-year-old Alexander Dimitri Walton, of English and Catalan origin. He was playing for Escola Gava in the youth leagues, and the Blaugrana have decided to take a chance on him, slotting him into their Juvenil B side. The Catalan daily also say that Barcelona had to battle to get Walton, with Real Betis also showing interest in signing him. https://www.football-espana.net/202...-left-back-eligible-for-spain-and-england/amp
Aston Villa's Farid Addey has been called up to Sweden's U16s. He attended an England U15 camp last season. Also in the squad are Reading twins Joseph & Jubilee Ntege, although apparently they only moved here last year so not sure they'd ever be eligible.
Also at Villa, Keilan Quinn has been called up to Ireland's U18s, his first involvement with them. He was at an England camp a few years back, when he was at West Brom.
Sydie Peck is now in our U20 squad. It says in places he was involved with Wales but I can’t find any record of it. I’m not even sure he is eligible for them? If he was they would surely be aggressively pursuing him at senior level?
It mentions it in here: https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/sheffield-uniteds-exciting-new-talent-20912566 "Peck has also represented Wales at under 18 level." But no further info on it
I don’t think he is actually eligible for them. Maybe called into a friendly squad but I can’t find any concrete evidence of it.
Ghana have failed to qualify for the next AFCON. That might dent their appeal to duals in the short term at least. Nigeria and DR Congo have both qualified through. The other Congo has not.
I don't know if anyone else noticed that when McAteer came on for Ireland the comentator said 'his connection to Ireland came from remembering his uncle wearing an Irish flag pin on his coat all the time'. Poor lad but he had to come up with something I guess.
Lol. Yeah, he's really not done himself any favours there. What next? "I once saw my grandad drink a pint of Guinness" or "My auntie's best friend's niece owned an Irish Wolfhound"?
1858420010630177193 is not a valid tweet id If this tweet doesn't show, it's a picture of Grealish posting an Instagram story of a picture of Carsley with the caption “Thank you for bringing back the enjoyment in an England shirt”. Bellingham also posted a very similar thing. The players have clearly really enjoyed their time under Carsley, and it also suggests that the Southgate's time had clearly come to its natural conclusion. Very much an indicator that the team spirit was waning, probably for more than one reason.
Particularly this camp as Kyle Walker made the point of saying how perfect this one was in his post, I wonder how he took the news he was being medically ruled out this time then. His call up is a still a bit of confusing mess.
Sunderland's Dennis Cirkin weighing up international decision Cirkin is weighing up his international options but insists it's not at the forefront of his thinking right now. He said: "I've got a few nationalities but I think, at the moment, especially because of last season, where I was basically injured for the whole season, my main focus is staying fit, being consistent, making that spot mine and thriving at club level first before I start to look into any pathways. "But for sure, I'm always thinking about it." Full article - https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...ennis-cirkin-weighing-international-decision/
I wouldn’t blame him if he goes elsewhere to play, how he’s not been picked for the U21’s or at least been considered over centre backs playing left back really is strange considering we’re not exactly blessed in depth there.
You'd think this suggests that he actually has the required documentation to play for England too. I still think it's likely he wants to play for England though. Ireland have probably approached him multiple times (likely this season) as well as Latvia.
Surely he’s saying that he’s unavailable for selection at the moment due to concentrating on his club career? Same as Hutchinson last season.
