I won't be able to watch this closely, but for those who can: https://www.youtube.com/live/d5e0Jrz6xHY As of this moment (shortly after 11 a.m.) we're at anthems so you haven't missed any match play yet. The background stadium music is "Thunderstruck."
Early goal USA - nice passing sequence to move the ball forward (after slow-playing in the back lulled France to sleep).
Seems like it's been a lot of Bleus so far, but both teams have missed good chances for second goals.
USA 2-1 France Final - I thought we battled well throuhout. These matches are great prep for our young players, wish we had them more often. I really like the French 'posicion de lounger' for offside position, disappointed to find it may be 'position de hors-jeu.' Is there a French speaker in the house?
Campbell with the first, and Habroune scored the second goal. And it’s Cole Campbell! The Dortmund winger puts the U.S U-20 team up 1-0 on France in the 15th minute. Less Blues in the second half. Campbell is (duh) a real interesting player. He is borderline uncatchable and might get there. He picks good aggressive lines for his attacks and doesn't seem to mind a bit of contact. (You gotta figure he'll get a bit stronger, maybe a little faster, no idea about bigger.) He's pesky on defense and will probably steal a goal or two in his career from defenders who don't account for his speed. The thing you want with this group is for them to have a weapon or two to make it hard for the defense to overplay him.
As promised he is at some BL level already. Extremely fast and very quick as well. Very high floor, similarly to Paredes.
