Magnificent little set piece there to tie it 1-1.

Gotham sitting on four yellow cards on the day(!) finally gets them as Bruninha gives a hard shove to Rodman and gets Gotham's fifth, her second, reducing Gotham to 10 for the last 20-ish minutes

Hatch with an incredible chance a minute later but AKB gets a finger to tip it over the bar

    Okay let's go, PKSO

The last PKSO in NWSL playoffs was back in 2016(!) when Washington lost to WNY

    Spirit kicking first
    WAS - XXX - 3
    NJY - OOO - 0

Kingsbury saves Esther, bad kick bc Kingsbury was already moving and it went right to her

Zerboni does the same thing and kicks straight to an already moving Kingsbury! Easy!

Kingsbury waits more on Nighswonger's kick but still saves it as well

    Spirit sweep the PKSO 3-0

I don't know if I've ever seen a team not make a single PK in a game this big.

    Dismal PK takes by Gotham.

Rodman mostly disappeared in the overtime, not sure if she was injured, but she still doesn't look like the Rodman before the back spasms to me.

Kingsbury was easily MVP of the match. Other than the one mistake when playing out of the back she was great.

Not sure taking Lavelle and Stevens out was the right call, GFC missed their creativity, and I can't imagine Lavelle playing a weak PK like all three GFC players.

The Spirit find a way to win two games in a row coming from behind, not the kind of thing you want to keep doing, especially for a final against one of KC/Orlando.

Banda proving(why she should be MVP) makes it 2-1 at 53rd minute

If only Chawinga would just settle a bit on her final shot, KC could have scored a couple, 2-1 still Orlando 75th minute

and now Marta whacked through KC’s defense , 3-1 80th minute, Great run by Marta though, faked 2 defenders in one turn

Marta is the worst. A total embarrassment. She is Jamie Tartt but she doesn’t realize Jamie’s arrogance is something to be laughed at, not applauded.
You have to be an awful person to have your team advance to their first final and you run around point not to your crest, but to your name on your jersey.
    What an ass

I strongly disagree. She is simply the greatest female soccer player ever and she is still producing at age 38. I do not condemn her for a good measure of arrogance, she has earned it and more.
We (the USA) have had a good measure of really good players but not one has even approached her level in both overall production and staying power.

And there was a good play to start the run but the run and the moves and the finish was all her.
What I do not like is players that display that level of arrogance without the production to back it up.

There may be players that are currently better but she is the epitome of greatness in the world of female soccer.

I will root for Brazil in almost every match they have except for when they play the USA simply because i love to see her play.
But she is getting a bit "long in the tooth" and so does not have many years left. I hope she can give us another year or two before final retirement.

She’s the Captain and she kept pointing to her name as if it is more important than the team.
She’s talented, but she is classless.

I disagree. A good bit of self centerness is required to be at the top of any sport. However your post calling her an "ass" is truly classless. I do not know, yet, if I can ignore a mod but, if I can, you will be the first mod I have ever ignored.
BTW: I reported your post and I hope it, and the follow ups gets deleted.

Marta and Christine Sinclair, two of the all time greats, make an interesting contrast.

I've seen a lot of players, in various sports, point to the sky after they'd done something good, but Marta is the only one I've ever seen shake a fist at the sky (after missing a shot late in the game at the 2008 Olympic final against the US).
