The first ever full broadcast of the Daytona 500 on network TV was in 1979. Cale Yarbrough and Donnie Allison, Bobby's brother, were running 1-2 on the final lap and wrecked. Bobby drove over to check and make sure his brother was alright and Cale got out of his car and attacked Bobby instead of Donnie, creating one of the more memorable fights in NASCAR history.
Roy Haynes played on this classic Bud Powell song recorded in 1949. Sonny Rollins was on tenor sax, and he is still alive at 94!
