I don’t know if it’s just my feed, but Threads seems to mostly be people asking a question or telling some provocative (and maybe fishy-sounding) story in an attempt to get responses. It’s not as obnoxious as Twitter, but it’s getting there.

By virtue of the fact that your grandma and your childhood classmates are still there, it could still be fun if it wasn't just complete garbage. But when I go to Facebook, because there are so few people making posts anymore, it's 10% stuff from my Friends and 90% AI-generated clickbait. And not even *GOOD* AI-generated clickbait! It's like "Well, Q*bert likes bicycling, hiking, and politics so let's generate a photo of a gorgeous woman (with 6 fingers) sitting on a bike in the mountains with an AOC shirt."
I gave up Facebook when Cambridge Analytica came out and I've lost touch with some friends as a result, which sucks.
