I think it is more a "ship is sinking" issue here...These guys are realizing that and jumping out. They have been onboard with the completely repulsive. bigoted, antisemitic and misogynist Mark Robinson for a while now and they knew exactly who he was then.
I was going to make that same point. Like now Nude Nazi is bad? But Robinson wanting to own a few slaves of his own wasnt?
In my cynicism I might suggest it has something to do with his skin color. If he were white, I'm not so sure they would be as disgusted.
Mark Robinson claimed that he’s been digitally framed. Many of his supporters have offered to find him the tech help needed to investigate that possibility. However, he has not taken up any of those offers. Is there anything to infer from that set of facts? https://www.wral.com/story/robinson...gate-posts-on-porn-site-sources-say/21638904/
Some interesting stuff on the American right, including Robinson. . . with a bit of a digression on Kennedy/Nuzzi NSF********ingW
As a Southerner, this guy’s accent is what happens when an actor tries to do a Southern accent but overdoes it a bit in the wrong places, enough for us from down here to tell. Like, you know how Senator Kennedy from Louisiana adopted a much deeper, and fake, accent when he switched from Democrat to Republican? Kind of like that. My son, and a lot of people on these forums, get a lot of their politics from spoken words, like podcasts or YouTubers. Me, I just can’t get down with that. I just have a hard time absorbing info that way. I need it written down. <sigh> I’m old
He's doing his shtick, here, but not an actor. He grew up in rural Tennessee: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trae_Crowder That's pretty close to his normal speaking voice, at least when I've seen him interviewed.
I'm with you, but I don't think it's an age thing. I can read much faster than anyone can talk. Q*bert posted last week a podcast about yard signs. Took 40 excruciating minutes to listen to. (I saved it for when I was driving, but it was still excruciating listening to the host interview the woman who had posed the original question.) I could have read the transcript in 5 minutes.
It will be three or four. Three are safe Republican, and Democrat Don Davis is trying to hold a district that is rated as toss-up by Sabato's Crystal Ball, Inside Elections, and The Cook Political Report. Good news in North Carolina is that Democrats could end the Republican supermajority in the legislature. North Carolina requires 60 percent to override a veto, and outgoing governor Roy Cooper had a lot of vetos overrided. With Josh Stein and likely no supermajority, North Carolina might have neither party be able to do much in the next two years. I also like reading much better than listening. If a YouTube video has people talking without any visual value, I would rather read the transcript than listen. Sometimes YouTube has transcripts, and sometimes YouTube does not. Transcripts are made by computers, and can have funny mistakes. For example, retired Duke Men's Basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski's name displayed as Tchaikovsky, who was a Russian composer who lived from 1840 to 1893.
Just when you thought Robinson’s campaign couldn’t go any further off the rails: https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/27/politics/mark-robinson-hospitalized/index.html
I know you are being sarcastic, but I don't read quickly, so pods are nice. Additionally, I'll have a pod on while doing something mindless, like cooking meals or folding clothes.
