On the subject of fans and expectations of team owners... The New York Red Bulls apparently need "new ownership"... they just clinched another playoff berth yesterday. Okay big deal, they made the playoffs, they still need new ownership. Well NYRB have the longest active postseason streak of any sports team in the US! New York Red Bulls: 15 seasons LA Dodgers: 12 seasons Boston Celtics: 10 seasons Kansas City Chiefs: 9 seasons
Yes! They're successful in the sense they're always in the playoffs, they're always in the hunt but just haven't been able to shake the 1996 curse of Nicola Caricola. I truly thought they would have had 1 or 2 by now. Especially the different years they had super stacked rosters. I'm curious if some of our resident boisterous Fisher detractors would have the same arguments and bitching if we had a 15 year playoff streak. Would they blame Fisher ?
