Maybe IceBlood is planning the same again himself I think (for some of the early years I think it would have to be a top 5 rather than top 10 though of course, if he did go back to those - I think he did them from 1950 onwards previously, up to 10th position, and tied 10th position might be the limit to make it on one of them I guess).

I'll not get involved myself with anything like that though (apart from maybe having helped with the full names if IceBlood wants to use those), so it's whether IceBlood wants to do it again, and from earlier than before, or not....

As you've still finished compiling, we can accept this as a last-minute arrival.
However, I'd like to ask the author @Jaune Vaughn to vote for the other decades as soon as possible. If possible, by the end of next week.

Ok, sure mate, yes (if he does want to vote for any other decades of course - it might be he just feels well placed to vote on that single one, but some other guys have done the same as that anyway).

I'll carry on with the early years updates, but then make a new update for the 2010s too then afterwards in that case.

Here goes my vote for 2023:

2023: Haaland, De Bruyne, Mbappé, Vinicius, Bellingham

@PDG1978 , One question, why does Messi have so many points in the 2023 classification? I have been looking at this thread and I don't see (except by mistake on my part) that many people have voted for him in 2023. Or are we also including votes that do not appear in this thread? Thank you.

IceBlood has been handling the 2023 voting tallies mate, so I've not been involved in that (I guess it's been split off from 'historical voting' as a 'current vote').

If there is any doubt as to the correct tallies perhaps I could help at some point, but I'm a bit reluctant to say that as I'd probably find it harder to pick things up anyway having not been involved initially. People were adding their 2023 votes as 'real-time' votes when the time came and IceBlood was adding up the scores as they did.

I do remember though that I checked at one point, when there had been a couple of stray votes missed when IceBlood did an update himself for the historical side of things (when I was taking quite a while to do it and he had some free time to help out IIRC), whether there had been any missed ones for 2023 too and I concluded that there hadn't been.

But yeah, other than that, I haven't been studying the 2023 votes (perhaps I read them all but I wasn't keeping track as such anyway I mean) or tallying them up.

Some of the Reddit voters perhaps did include submitted 2023 votes in the end though I guess, so those ones would not be showing directly on the thread.

IceBlood might be able to quickly help show the source of all the 2023 points Messi has accumulated I guess when he next comes back on the thread.

Next time I'm logged on I'll show the final full-decade overall summaries for both the 1890s and 1900-1909, so @Naubi I can add these votes in from you for that second period when I do that (but I'd wanted to give you a chance to amend them if you wanted because you'd indicated at one point you probably would - let us know if you still do want to, but otherwise I can add points for these players; 6 for 1st, 4 for 2nd and 3 for 3rd as normal for a 3-player list, and like I've done for the votes of Gutigut that we could use for 1894-1899 indeed too).

@Buyo I used the right votes for Messi, the ranking is correct, I checked everything.

In reality, I think he got back quite a few votes anyway, because 1) in general, we have fewer voters for more recent years; 2) voters used 2023 or 2022-2023 to represent 2023, as agreed; 3) in reality, he became second long ago, because part of the voting panel used 2022 to put him in first place, not 2023. This is what happens when you have the duality of calendar and season.
In the end, he won't win any Ballon d'Or in 2022 or 2023 for our consensus, because the impact of the World Cup is right in the middle, even that tends these votes a little more towards 2023.
Anyway, I'll add your votes as soon as possible.
