The stadium has a roof and air conditioning, the same place as the current Colombia vs. Costa Rica match.
@ThreeApples then that explains the lack of hydration breaks during today's match. Fans look comfortable too.
I think that's the only indoor stadium for match day 3. There will be a lot of heat in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Austin, Kansas City, Santa Clara.
By chance or causality, the first 4 teams in the CONMEBOL WCQ are in turn the first 4 teams classified to the 4th finals in CA.

Journalists Richard Mendez and Alvaro Morales had a strong clash live and directly due to the result of Venezuela vs Mexico. Days and even weeks before the game, and as he usually does, Alvaro Morales heated things up a bit with risque statements (very much like Marianelah): "Venezuela is a team that plays baseball, Mexico will beat Venezuela 6-0, Venezuela is nothing, They never been in a WC, Venezuela should dedicate to making teledramas and give up football, Venezuelan players may have a diet of bread with sardines and tap water”... After the game, Richard Mendez, some Venezuelan journalists (including a double Emmy winner) and even Venezuela's goalkeeper, Rafa Romo, responded to what the Mexican press wanted to sell to their fans. Richard Mendez then reveals the problems of Mexican soccer and assures that he does not see a favorable future if things do not change: 1.- They do not have lower leagues 2.- They accept up to 8 foreign players in the starting lineup, taking away opportunities for the Mexican player. 3.- They play home games in the US, which indicates that they only care about the money generated by what Mexicans call "pochos." 4.- TUDN manages Mexican soccer as it wants, and managers, team owners and federations only care about selling a product and not developing soccer per se. Adriana Monsalve (2 times Emmy Sports Winner) “I have more than two decades working in the Mexican soccer industry. And I keep telling a lot to the media; “You are part of the problem.” They have always called all rivals who are not powerhouses on their US tours “MOLEROS”. Today, facing two rivals that many of the media have always considered “moleros”, the transcendence of this #CopaAmerica2024 is hanging in the balance. These types of tournaments are not only won by playing well, especially if you are not a world power (Italy, Germany, Argentina, Brasil). You win by also taking advantage of the circumstances of a match and El Tri has had shortcomings in match management for some time. Do your analysis, getting to know your rivals more and in the desire to only hold the system responsible, also analyze what you are doing to contribute to the growth of Mexican soccer. Narrative MATTERS!” Tengo mas de dos décadas trabajando en la industria del fútbol mexicano. Y les sigo diciendo a muchos de los medios de comunicación; “ustedes son parte del problema”. Siempre han tildado de “MOLEROS” a todos los rivales que no son potencia en sus giras por EE.UU. (Continúa)— Adriana Monsalve (@AdrianaMonsalve) June 27, 2024
27K for a team no one cares about is still okay. Most of the California Colombians are taking out a loan from their bank to drive up to Santa Clara to see Colombia play some team that has five Cups of some sort.
Very disappointing, considering that URU-BOL had 48K in attendance. Seriously, who packs 45K+ fans into a venue when their opponent is BOL? Only URU fans are capable of that.
Yeah, I guess Phoenix is just a poor choice of venue. If it was a less attractive match like BOL-URU, Phoenix probably would have drawn about 5K. There is seemingly zero interest among "neutrals" in the Copa in that immediate area. Also, the ticket prices should reflect the demand. Economics 101.
Bielsa is a class act, he even asked whether his response would be translated back to that social media influencer. Tip of the hat to the translator, who rebranded the restaurant as good old McDowell's. #GoneTooSoon
@BocaFan , it has to do with how fans experience their national team. I have not witnessed URU fans experiencing matches through their phones, trying to collect proof of being at the venue. Even Homie indicated that COL fans do not attend games against "a team no one cares about". URU fans have demonstrated the exact opposite, even though East Rutherford ticket prices were much higher than those at Glendale.
True, now that you mention it I didn't see many fans staring at their phones during that match. You also won't see everyone on their phones at the Euros.
Fans have been flashing cameras at matches to take pictures of goal scoring moments for decades. I do not see the problem with it but whatever. If Colombia plays Uruguay there will be way more Colombians in any of the stadiums left in the knockouts. Of course Uruguay has some great fans so I am not going to knock them. They also are a small country and are passionate about the one thing they are really known for. Ask anyone on the planet about Uruguay and all they really can talk about is maybe Soccer and Anthony Bourdain episode on Travel channel.
The hilarious part about all this is how the COL-CRC fan camera kept going back to a Penarol dude, surrounded by kids wearing USMNT shirts. He was the only yellow-shirted fan going mad for the cameras. URU fans are at another level of football fandom. #Respect
He was wearing a Penarol shirt. Not sure he is Uruguayan but let's assume he was. His Sons (I assume they are his kids) were wearing a PSG shirt, something that looked like a Messi shirt and a Portugal Shirt. All at a match between Colombia and Costa Rica. Looked like a family with an identity crisis on their hands.
Chile down to 10 men. Second yellow on a regular foul. Earlier a Canadian elbowed a Chilean on the chin and Roldán and the var looked the other way. Roldán being Roldán.
This Copa has been the biggest joke of a tournament as I've seen in my lifetime. Complete bias for one team over another in like 75% of the games. So sad.
