2-0 Brazil The battle between Brazil-Colombia to not face Uruguay is gonna be epic! And then those 3 battling it out for the finals!!! Im gonna grab some popcorn and watch it all
Brazil score cause of individual brillance and rival stupid errors but look SO unimpressive playing as a team. The score doesnt do the match justice. Also, Vini fanboys are so annoying they remind me of a certain fanbase
That's what I love hearing. If we don't win the Copa America, I rather Uruguay or Colombia win at the very least. Never Brazil, hope they get scrubbed out early.
This 2nd half has been all Paraguay so far. They have the ball, dominate and attack. Allison saving Brazil.
Vini is such an unlikable figure, like Cristiano Ronaldo - but I guess he’s cementing the Ballon D’Or this year.
Not saying Messi dont deserve it because he should have won 9 or 10 but lets be honest, Messi winning his 9th Ballon D'or would actually kills Ballon prestigiousness.
Not saying Messi should win it, but Vini winning is such an underwhelming candidate. But I guess the nominees this year are all underwhelming.
Paraguay just flat out stink. First team to get eliminated. Group A Chile v Canada should be really interesting. I’ll pull for third world country Canada to progress. Not much better but all CaNADA has to do is get a draw. They could do it. They also have the speed to hurt the Chileans. We’ve all but won the group. Group B Well more than likely play the second place team in this. Either Venezuela, Ecuador or Mexico. Mexico needs to defeat Ecuador if they want a to qualify . Venezuela has qualified and could rest up v Jamaica. But you’d suspect they wouldn’t want to play us in the QFs. I think GD and then head-head comes in play. Jamaica has an outside shot of qualifying. I wouldn’t bet on it. Group C Uruguay is the standout side. The US has work to do to qualify. They need to defeat Uruguay. They cannot rely on Bolivia who literally is here on vacation. That’s a tough ask. You can have both Mexico and US out of this tournament. Group D- Colombia has yet to really been challenged. They’ve looked good against weaker opposition. Let’s see what they can do v the Brazucas. They could face the US in the KO stages. But I do not see Bielsa laying down. If the US does not make it and if it is Panama, then both Colombia and Brasil will want that #1 spot to avoid Uruguay. The Brazucas are just not a likable side, particularly Vinicius and Rodrygo, two of the biggest bitches in world football. They both were running their mouths too much during our last encounter. I think Uruguay will challenge them and should handle them if they meet in the KO stages. We are kinda sitting pretty. We just need to take care of business in the KO stages. By the end of the weekend, we’ll know our opponents.
Thats the problem with this year candidates. It just meh. Haaland still always disappear in big games (just like Higuain). Mbappe would have won at least 1 or 2 Ballon if he moves to a better club and if wasnt Messi winning the WC and CA in twilight of his career. Also, Lautaro would have been in top 5 if Inter didnt underperforming in CL most of the time. If he has successful as Copa, I wonder how he'd be ranked in Ballon list? as he won serie A , MVP and golden boots.
Oh no, not Uruguay. They're still bragging non stop about that win in La Bombonera. If they become the team with most Copas America after beating us in the final, they'll be insufferable. Honestly, brazilians have shown more respect for our accomplishments than the fake humble uruguayans.

Man, the Tanos are bad. Like really bad. Now, they're down 2-0. Italy looks like our 2018 side... In fact...
Honestly they are worse. Apart from Chiesa and Donnarumma and Bastoni not even any effort. It's a knockout game and most of the side are wandering about like the holidays are about to begin. The least you can offer is effort. Amazed Spalletti stays with the same formation even in the first half and didn't change it up. Even if it's just a message to say this level of application is not acceptable. Switzerland are as usual boring but efficient.
That's why Mancini was looking at the list. Doesn't help that as in most developed countries kids are playing less and less active sport but prefer to play silly computer games. Less kids playing in the street. You look at a country like Scotland and Uruguay. Similar populations in that they are small although Scotland has a round 2M more. Time was when you could whistle up a goalscorer, tricky winger or hard man in Scotland. Street football. All that has gone. It affected Uruguay too. No street football but they remedied their youth systems and kids still play in large numbers. Scotland all gone. Inside playing awful FIFA and often obese consuming junk food.
I've watched football for 4 decades. That's the worst performance I've seen from Italy indeed any national side for many a long year. Awful. Made Switzerland look like World Cup champions. Barely any efforts on goal as well during the entire tournament. No excuses about the heat either. Didn't affect the Swiss.
Italy’s problem runs deep. But the biggest problem is that clubs and the country just do not focus on youth development. Smaller clubs might but the big guns? Not a chance. And when the smaller clubs do, they’ll just sell them off to EPL teams.
There's an incredible reluctance to play youngsters. For better or worse the economic situation in Argentina that results in the loss of players overseas leaves many gaps filled by kids coming in from the club cantera's where they receive a great football education. And as mentioned lots of kids now prefer to be on those infernal smartphones, playing dumb console games that don't bear any resemblance to football more like ice hockey on grass and even in Italy starting to consume growing amounts of junk food. It's an issue for sports across the developed world with reduced player participation. Here's hoping Danish dynamite blows up German hopes. Please....
If you want a deep dive into why Italian football is the way it is. I asked and someone answered. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/azzurrini-news.2026596/page-82#post-42262782
