Venezuela parked the bus at the end. Game should have been a tie if it wasn’t for that pitiful pk.

Well gentlemen, these same men were in this position in 2022. Just needed to not lose vs Senegal (the then current Africa Champs)... this Mexico is nowhere near that level of talent.

Can we control a full game? no no scratch that. Podemos mantener el arco en 0? that's what is needed.

USA just lost to Panama...again lol

    Yep! This is true.

The upcoming match will require zenlike focus for 90 mins to advance- hopefully we can steamroll to finish first...assuming Jamaica can be heroes and exit the copa with honor and distinction.

Ecuador’s defense is a concern. Ecuador can’t just sit back and defend though. If that’s going to be their strategy then they’re going to lose. Mexico is going to go all out. They created a lot of goal scoring opportunities against Venezuela. It’s going to be a tough game. The atmosphere is also going to be electric. It’s practically going to be a home game for Mexico.

That ain’t happening. We can’t keep a score when are ahead for some reason. Mexico is going to come out fighting.

They have been streaming Serie B games as well. Now that Liga Pro signed Extrim for both 1st division and 2nd they have been doing that. The other day when I saw the CA game on Ecuavisa it said ECDF in the top right corner. I hope this means they will stream Liga Pro games as well it soo easy to go on yt to watch games. Especially at work.

I find it strange that they offered $150 million for streaming rights.

They are Grupo TV cable in Ecuador and they do streaming with ECDF. IDK if Ecuavisa was always with ECDF or if they recently partnered with them but I was surprised when I saw ECDF on Ecuavisa for the Copa America match. They where showing the exact same stream.

I really do hope this mean Liga Pro matches will be streamed there as well. They are already streaming 2nd and 3rd division matches.

And I'm guessing they signed a very long contract. This was probably a good immediate solution to the debt problems left by goltv and Xtrim will probably sell their contract at a future point.

I know, I know but it’s a very substantial amount. 15/year assuming it is is still a big amount.

When you factor in the operational costs of how many clubs are listed as beneficiaries + the debt they've incurred specifically this year due to the GolTV accounts receivable, it thins out to an unimpressive sum that won't do much to really help the clubs. Plus, that money will be taxed.

The positive is there is now a contract that will theoretically bring in stable money.

The con is that it will never be enough.

The way our defense plays, we need a minimum of two goals to survive this game.

We had 2 freaking handballs in the box vs Jamaica

Mexico will have the full backing of that stadium, I hope our boys are ready.

I was thinking it’s a big amount for an ecua company to put on the table but when it’s distributed around to teams in serie A and B it’s a paltry sum.

Only CONMEBOL teams should play the CA. I actually like the format they had a few years ago where it was split up into two groups of five teams. Money talks though and ultimately that’s what drives the decision making. More money is generated with having Mexico and USA participate in the tournament. Having the tournament played in the US makes it even more lucrative.

Yes and no to a couple of things:

ecuador probably chickened out last minute. Colombia didn’t give AF when they hosted in 2001, and it paid off for them as they had a fairly easy road to win it. The top dogs either backed out completely or brought C squads. I’m all for public safety and overall I think the FEF made the right call as it relates to public safety and integrity

I think the 4 year format is going to increase the value of this tourney overall. The every 2 year cycle diminished the stakes and its aura.

if conmebol wants to keep this tourney within their borders as every other conference does then some real investment changes are needed.

USA already hosts every Gold Cup tourney, unless the men in charge figure this out - the north american country will be the defacto home

Still they managed to under market this cup, plus the logistics are horrible.how are you going to plan Ecuador v Ve,Ja in N California and Vegas respectively ,most South Americans are located along the east coast from FL to MA ,Mexicans are the majority in La and Texas, maybe cater those locales to Mex and USA ,and program every other game in Miami,N Carolina,Philly ,NYC Boston?instead of those empty stadiums where there’s no support.just a wasted opportunity,Ecuador vs Venezuela/Jamaica would have been a sellout in Met Life,a Philly stadium or even Miami.

I have no problem traveling anywhere. My issue was our group. No games spiked my interest to want to travel.
