Arsenal always do things under the radar probably sign players we don’t expect rice and havertz are 2 of the big ones we knew about before but it doesn’t happen all the time
I'm not sure that we should be in for Eze: Rice and Havertz are both better at 8, and we have a bigger need at 6 and on the wing. And, he'll be 26 when the season starts so he's basically a one contract player. There's better players to be had for 60m in that position.
Every once in a while you have deals like Kiwior or Fabio Vieira that are quiet until they get announced, but those have to be done and dusted well before the transfer window. Too much incentive for the selling club to try to drive up prices after.
Struggling to think of available 6s Wharton I’m a fan of, Arteta likes zuba, who realistically is available and good?
Spanish media is linking us to Mikel Merino. Not necessarily a true 6 but more of a 6/8. I've wanted him for a few seasons. Bonus is he has 12mo on this deal and would come at a discount. Negative is that he will be 28 to start the season. Supposedly Barca are pushing to get a deal done for 20-30m euro.
I seem to recall his first red for us was on one of those lunging tackles near midfield to stop and attack (not DOGSO, though) which in the beginning of the season, PGMOL vowed to crack down on. And then lo and behold, no other player was ever red carded for it.
🚨 Arsenal value Eddie Nketiah at £50m and have set that as their asking price should they sell this summer. 💰 pic.twitter.com/24QPKLLxuP— Connor Humm (@TikiTakaConnor) June 25, 2024
English surcharge, yes. But really they should accept half of that amount for a guy who rarely plays.
If true, It probably means Arsenal aren’t signing a striker and aren’t confident Jesus’ knee will be ready for next season.
I been saying this for a while. I think people are going to be surprised at how much Eddie goes for. He is a proven PL goal scorer, English, just before his prime. I think he goes for 40 million. The striker market is very dead.
right. he will go at a discount because he is being sold to a smaller team. no one is going to pay big money for a failed arsenal player.
Considering that Chelsea just set the market again by paying £19m for an 18 year old forward with 60 minutes of 1st team experience, Nketiah has to be worth more than £25m.
Iheanacho went for 25, 7 years ago. I'd take between 30-40 but there is nothing wrong about Arsenal's initial position. The next question is what does a better striker than Eddie cost?
