One thing I will say about Leeds/West Yorkshire fans is that they don't treat their own people any better. If you meet someone for the first time and get a "reet?" it means they really like you. It's more likely that you'll get an insult, which means they haven't made their minds up yet. Deep down they're warm hearted.

I think after Summerville and Gnotos lack luster performances down the stretch, Farke would be happy with a hard working winger like Aaronson. Credit James for being a breath of fresh air later on in the year after those two seemed like they couldn’t be bothered at the end of the season. Leeds fans are tough. he scores ten plus they will love him. They think he gets knocked down a little too easy but I noticed he got better at that later in the season at Union. So hopefully he’s stronger on his feet. He is attributed to a dismal uneventful season. You can tell though that any player that came in under Jesse doesn’t get much respect. A few have emerged into fan favorites like Gnoto and Rutter. There were a lot that cycled through pretty quickly.

He said he made his decision to return to Leeds after talking to Sargent and Scally, who spoke highly of Farke, and that he added six pounds of muscle at Berlin as he tried to become a more physical player.
I think the C'Ship could be a false dawn for him. He's like 10% away from being effective at the EPL level and the defenders in the C'Ship are just that little bit slower of mind and body that he could do very well, only to hit another brick wall in the EPL.
I don’t mind the return to Leeds. It’s the club he’s contracted to after all, and it’d be a good stint in its own right if he could contribute to promotion. Worry about the higher level when the time comes hopefully.
People keep saying it’s a drop in quality but that cuts both ways - if it’s an easier league then he should be even more effective. I’m dubious about the importance of scouts - if he plays well, all the peoples will be aware. One of his problems is being too lightweight on the ball and this kind of league should improve his weakness. Perhaps unfair to Convey - but if Convey can be part of a record setting Reading season - one should hope BA can do well.
The "league" brush is usually too broad anyway - tho we all use that shorthand. Being on a good team that uses BA in the right way will be way better for him, no matter where he is, than a team trying to force him into a role he's not as natural a fit. That's true for all players, of course - but if Aaronson gets in a spot he has to grind it out in B2B midfield battles all game, he's not going to look special. If he gets someplace he can be forward-facing in more of an AM/10 role, and he has a striker who can score, he will look better. If he expected to provide a lot of goals, he's not going to look as good. There's the added grind of the extra games in the Champs. I think the Bund would be better for him overall, in the most general analysis, but it will depend a lot how Farke/Leeds play. There's a real chance to be a hero at Leeds as well - as he was at Union. Will be interesting.
The big question is whether or not Leeds will be competitive next season. They're losing a big part of their parachute payments and have had / will have to let some of their better players go. If they suck next season, I have no trouble foreseeing a witch hunt happening, with Brenden as the target.
"Easier league" is relative. The Championship is a crap league made difficult by referees who tolerate a lot of fouling. So, in that sense, it can be a "hard league" if you're even slightly injury-prone.
There's also an extra dozen games or so to try to battle through and survive. It's a lot of footie down there.
I have a fleeting memory of Farke that's positive from the Bundesliga but I don't remember who he coached or his style. Just remembered the name when it came up and thought Aaronson might be a good fit.
England has a pool of refs and they get assigned to matches in various divisions. The Football League doesn’t have a separate set of refs for the Prem. This statement is false.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this question: I've always wondered how a girlfriend (not wife) of a player can live indefinitely in the same country as the boyfriend if the girlfriend herself doesn't have a legal right to live in that country? I could see the g/f living there for a period of time (maybe until the tourist visa expires) but it seems when a g/f comes over to country X, she can live there indefinitely without a visa/work permit/etc. How?
I think it's a country by country question Germany seems like it might be easier than some - perhaps his girlfriend signed up for German classes in order to get a longer term visa.
I think she was still a student athlete at Temple until last spring, and it's very likely she was not with him full time this past year at Berlin. Beyond that I can offer nothing.
Some possibilities: * A number of European countries allow unmarried partners to get residency permits * She could be on a student visa * The 90 day shuffle -- leave every 3 months to restart the counter * She could have a work visa in her own right (or an EU passport). Money overcomes a lot of visa issues.
