I don't know if it has already been published but if in doubt I'll still send you this in-depth analysis regarding the ranking made by "Kicker" magazine. Notable is the poll of the West German sports weekly Kickers, in which the world's best-known green-turf capacities determined the six best players. The Dutchman Johan Cruyff surpassed the experts the most, with all but four exceptions, all the first places belong to him (Pelé also rated Cruyff the highest), Franz Beckenbauer is the second most successful footballer of the championship, Deyna, Lato, Tomaszewski and Gadocha emerged from the Polish players in the poll.
Pages from József Hoffer's notebook After the list, it follows naturally how I would put together the world team. Well, my team: Maier (GDR) — Suurbier (Dutch), Pereira (Brazil), Beckenbauer (GDR), Breitner (GDR) — Deyna (Poland), Cruff (Dutch), Babington (Argentina) — Lato (Poland) , Müller (Germany), Gadocha (Poland).
It was nicely detailed by @Gregoriak here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/1974-world-cup-best-players.2026718/
I don't know if the first day was skipped by the newspaper but I think so. I have the ratings for the second and third games. From the star totals that were published after the second matchday, you can easily guess what the ratings of some players are after the first match.
Johan Cruyff received 5 stars against Uruguay, he received the same stars for the match against Bulgaria, in my opinion against the Bulgarians it was Johan's best match of the World Cup.
