Qatar wants to be remembered whenever you see highlights from this cup, so I see why. Plus, they basically pay his wages right now. On another note, does anyone have any cool pics from the stands of when Messi and Argentina lifted the trophy, and all the fireworks went off? My phone unfortunately died but I still want some memories
Thanks for being part of my life every day during this cycle, friends! Special kudos to @herewegoagain, @Benyounes and @Cuenca and all the tech savvy around!
Very grateful to @BMfutbol16 for the superb finals tickets, super class guy, hope you feel better my brother
For fans returning to USA. Can one of you buy me two physical Monday newspapers in Qatar tomorrow and take home with you?? "Qatar Tribune" for example is a good one and in English. They have them in hotel lobbies too for free I noticed. Basically every world cup I buy post-final local newspaper but this time I'm not there. I can pay you for it of course. Let me know if one of you can help. Thanks! Actually... anyone can buy it and ship it to me I suppose.
I want to thank everyone here (old heads, new heads, and everyone in between) for all the info, experiences, and sound advice. It was the best World Cup in my lifetime, and the only one I think I’ll ever be able to attend start to finish. Capped off with one of the most epic football matches of all time. Im heading home in an hour, but man this whole month is going to stick with me for a long time. Can’t wait to do the Euros in 2 years. Cheers!
One idea for the mods (@jesta ) - would it be helpful to have a tag for some of the users on here that have done this for a long time (ie old heads)? It may help differentiate users, especially on the buying/trading/selling tickets front.
It’s over… The best World Cup ever. I came with my wife and 3 kids to Qatar (like the thread says, for non political issues). this is and will always be the greatest World Cup experience ever. I saw 25 games; had tickets to over 40. Gave lots away; sold some and let some die. Argentina winning was the prize. Argentina, Mexico and Morocco fans made the World Cup…. 2026 will be so different; we’ll be buying expensive flights to watch maybe 4 or 5 games. but we’ll figure it all out… love y’all… los quiero… adiós ; good bye … signed.. Mickey Mouse
Top 3 fan bases for sure. And let’s not forget the Japanese fans - after they beat Spain, I joined them cleaning trash and collecting it into the blue bags they brought in. The plus of 2026 is I can hopefully take my dad to a World Cup match, which I never thought possible. But this was the best Cup ever, hands down. 38 matches over here, including every single knockout.
You can kinda determine that by looking at the year people joined and how many contributions they have. It's under each profile.
An absolute pleasure meeting you Darom. An incredible coincidence sitting right next to you. It's such a small world sometimes. This whole tournament has been magic. Tonight will be hard to top, an unforgettable final. What a way to end our 23 day WC journey.
Save travels home to everyone. This thread was invaluable for my 2.5 weeks in Qatar earlier in the tournament. If anyone needs a local resource in NYC for 26, feel free to reach out. Happy holidays!
thanks to everyone who made this a trip a reality for me with their tips and info. Qatar 2022 is, or should I say was, my first ever WC and my god, I couldn't have asked for a better experience, be it the football, atmosphere and everything in between. I'm gonna miss the fanatic scramble for tickets that has consumed me for the better part of this past year. Once again, thanks a lot guys and looking forward to seeing y'all again in 2026 (or 2024 for the euros)
What a cracker of a finals game. Will never forget that in my lifetime, and fantastic being on the corner next to the Argentina section. The pure emotion after that penalty was everything. Thanks to the members here for some great tips and tricks, and for sorting me out with some tickets when I needed a hand. Really helped complete my experience!
Didn't manage to get a ticket unfortunately.... Will probably most likely be my first and last world cup unless its ever held in the UK. Thankyou @herewegoagain for your scanner Thankyou @Cuenca for your IMacro script Want to say a big thanks to the community here.
