Is this a weakened Netherlands side, does anyone know? They look surprisingly poor so far.

Is Ridgeon number 18 or is that Miles? Quite impressive either way.

It's primary school standard from the Netherlands.

Thanks. I've not watched him before but he looks good. Can run with the ball but seems to know when to release it too.

Desperately poor so far. I don't get the feeling that we're blowing them away with something extraordinary so much as playing competently against a side that isn't.

    It's a real mismatch.

Anyone remember when it was us who couldn't string three passes together at this level? God bless St George's Park!

I think it might be. I know one of their best players had to pull out because he's with Ajax's first-team.

Teams are heavily rotated in dual friendlies like this. England’s XI in the first game was probably stronger, in attacking positions at least with Rio and Dowman starting. I’m guessing Holland started with their stronger side in the first game.

Yeah, I kind of factored that in but it was still surprising how ineffectual they looked. We weren't playing a full-strength side either but there was no comparison.

Gonna be very interesting to see if Gomes Rodriguez is in this squad for the competitive fixtures next month. Would be farcical to keep picking him unless there's a high chance (and not just an off chance) he's going to become eligible in the near future.

It'll be interesting to see if he's in the squad for the qualifiers next month given he missed the first round of qualifiers presumably due to eligibility issues. Given he's already been offered senior call ups by Venezuela its good news he's still sticking with us at this point regardless.

He has 18 caps now for England. You'd think he's now either got or is in the process of getting his passport.

you’d think so, but Fabio Carvalho got 29 underage caps for England and was a consistent call up for the under 17s in all non competitive games, without ever having a passport.

Him now playing in France makes it harder for him to get the passport then if he was still playing in the UK. The main ground for his eligibility ended when he left Southampton for Lyon.

Through unlike him he doesn’t have to sit the test (Which is why Carvalho hasn’t got British Citizenship yet) until next March when he turns 18.
