I think that's the same speech that Edwyn made at the announcement almost a year ago(?). A good one though. I hope they make the fields available to the community, and not just the academy and the "haves".
https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/42234233/bruce-arena-eyes-new-challenge-hiring-san-jose-coach The Earthquakes organization and Fisher are prepared to make an additional investment in the complex at PayPal Park, the team's home venue. The upgrades include improved locker rooms, a player meeting room, a team dining room, an additional practice field and other amenities that will improve "the everyday environment for the players."
How about putting the outer skin on so the place finally looks finished. And hopefully it will help block some of the wind that whips around the concourse. And about that roof that never quite got finished......
NYCFC and New England stadium news Long-awaited legislative compromise on economic bill paves way for Revs soccer stadium Queens CB7 Housing and Land Use Chair Chuck Apelian stated last night “probably within the next 30 days, or even sooner, we should have a groundbreaking for the [NYCFC] soccer stadium”The Stadium Update slide noted that “2027 remains the opening target year”— Chris Campbell (@SoupInNYC27) November 15, 2024
I'm shocked that they did not already have a team dining room. I mean, how do you skip that? We don't care if or what the players eat? Really? We are even more bush league than I thought, and I thought we were bush league. And apparently our locker rooms suck, and there hasn't been a player meeting room. Where do we show the guys videos? Do we have a video room? And our one and only practice field was paid for by Amway! Nothing says professional being sponsored by Amway. Dang! Go Quakesfans!!
Why are you shocked? I told everybody here (and was laughed at by DG a bunch) that the facilities were shit. The visiting team locker room is ridiculously small and limited - barely room for a team, coaches, and trainers. The referee locker room is the size of a small bathroom. the entire building that houses the locker rooms should have been used that way, instead of also having the corporate offices. Kaval consulted absolutely nobody who understood what should be included in a stadium facility. Yet another concrete example of how arrogant and out of touch the Earthquakes have been under Fisher.
I laughed at the idea of improving the visitors’ locker room. As far as I know, it still ain’t happening.
Maybe - but we need TWO sub-par visitors locker rooms to be able to get the best use out of the stadium!
