I wonder if there is a chance Man City’s players could be not very important under Tuchel. Walker is old now and is a strong candidate to be dropped by Tuchel. Stones is injury prone and might get dropped from the firet choice starting line up as well. Grealish could be at big risk as well. Foden has never worked so could be dropped and does Lewis suit a Tuchel team?

There's quite a few of the type of player you're talking about coming through. Academies are very much playing in a way that is conducive to producing that type of player now but my worry is they're going way too far in that direction.

No point in speculating who Tuchel will and won't like. There are four months between now and his first camp and a lot will change. His selections will at least partly be based on who lays down a marker between now and then.

You posted an article about him being an admirer of Rashford, but that won't mean anything unless Rashford's performance level for United improves.

The next taxi off the rank will hopefully be Harvey Elliott. Yes, he needs to secure a starting place with Liverpool and ideally grow a few inches, but along with Noni Madueke he's been the pick of England's U21 team this year. A class act and just returned from injury.

22 players are out for today's session at @SpursOfficial’s training ground today, with @EzriKonsa recovering indoors.

@HKane will join Lee Carsley for today’s pre-match media conference at 3pm.

Harry Kane on his squad drop-outs comments: "I didn’t expect it to get as much coverage as it did but it’s my opinion. November has always been a tough camp – you’re in a lot of [club] games. These are the camps where you build this togetherness that leads you into a World Cup."

England predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Walker, Guehi, Harwood-Bellis, Hall; Gomes, Gallagher; Bowen, Gibbs-White, Gordon; Kane

Not a great looking line up really, though you'd still expect it to have enough to overcome a fairly pedestrian Ireland side. I'm not really sure any of those outfielders outside Kane, Guehi and Hall will feature much under Tuchel.

It would also seem a bit unfair on Livramento to be with the seniors for every camp and not start a single game, hopefully he will at least get off the bench.

Well, if they do then this will be the best chance they ever will have playing against what is essentially our B/C team.

I doubt that is the team for tomorrow. Seems like a prediction from one journalist.

Hall and Gomes probably come in to start. Obviously Kane too.

Yeah, I mean for a game for us to win the group and gain promotion it would seem we’re being a bit complacent imo.

Feel like a win is important tomorrow, at the risk of sounding like Michael Owen. It’s ultimately not been a very good year for us, yes we got to the final but our performances have left a lot to be desired all year. Then there has been all the toxic culture war dramas and slight erosion to the connection between the fans and the team. Seen by the jibes made by the likes of Southgate and Bellingham in interviews during the Euros.

However, Thursday night was a great tonic, and if we can win the group and finally lay down some authority again at Wembley(our record there has been pretty dismal this year with only one win and three defeats-could easily have been four had it not been for Bellingham’s late show against the Belgians) then we can put this year behind us and look forward to Tuchel’s reign with positivity and optimism.

It wouldn’t even make sense tactically to swap Madueke for Bowen against what we assume will be a very defensive low-block opponent. Especially with Gordon on the other side.

Would be surprised if Bellingham doesn’t start too.

Yeah absolutely, makes little sense when trying to break down someone like Ireland. Noni would be perfect against the low block, Bowen would find it hard, plus it would suit Kanes game more having someone with pace outside him which Bowen doesn’t really have. Also, Bowen had a bit of a stinker when he came on the other night other than being involved in the Jones goal so it would seem strange to start him.

Not England related but what's happened in the Dutch game. Everyone has been standing around for 10 minutes

I don’t mind Bowen off the bench. Direct, maintains width and is prepared to make the runs to help give space for others.

Even with the pullouts with have some real quality bench options. MGW, Bowen, Rogers and Solanke can all come on with 20+ minutes left.

Lee Carsley has opened the door to the possibility of applying for the England manager’s position after Thomas Tuchel has left. Plus Carsley reveals #LFC's Harvey Elliott and #AVFC's Jacob Ramsey would have been called up this month if fit.

Those two would have been interesting call ups.

The Times say it is between Quansah and Walker to replace Konsa at centre back.
