Well, when you put it this way... The American people elected Donald Trump, knowing full well a jury found him liable for a sex crime. This means he's been given a mandate to install sex offenders throughout the government. by Hugh Hewitt— New York Times Pitchbot (@DougJBalloon) November 15, 2024
I agree with this and will extend it further to religion. I mean, I don't think I need religion to know the difference between right and wrong, and don't need the threat of eternal punishment or whatever to know not to be a jerk. In fact, that's my one rule, try not to be a jerk. But I would say that I've learned character (what you do when no one is looking) and not being a jerk doesn't come naturally to most people. So the advantage of having those commandments and an entire religous apparatus to remind most people, who are predisposed to being jerks, that God is watching and they will get eternal damnation does have an effect on the overall harmoneousness of society. The fact that the last few decades the church has gone away from "be a good person and don't go to hell (and give us money)" to "Anyone that is gonne let us punish/beat/kill/expell the gays/people of color/libs was sent by our mysterious God" is part of our problems. Liberals have to be willing to punch some people in the face. Committees and being reasonable makes us end up with people like Trump in charge.

I agree that liberals need to be willing to punch people in the face. I'm willing to punch them in the throat, or worse, as POCs are already marked for elimination. Does that count? I do want to point out that churches were MUCH worse a few decades ago. Even more segregated than they are now. And because Sunday Morning is the most segregated time in the American week, we don't need to be asking churches for shit. I have several Black friends who attend churches with a White aegis. When they start talking about worship, I have to remind them that they are not praying for the same outcome as their fellow members.
Turns out the Trump of the Far Right (TOTFR) is...drumroll...Donald Trump once again. Take a bow, sir. I've got to wipe the tears from my eyes.
Well we know who he'll blame the next GINA virus on: New White House Comms Director Steven Cheung has been chosen to instill confidence in the Trump administration pic.twitter.com/8LSQKNTxJx— PatriotTakes 🇺🇸 (@patriottakes) November 15, 2024
Good article. Completely agree…especially this part: All except Garland. Smith? Yes. Garland….nah…******** that guy.
Whitelandia went berserker...err, I mean...had "economic insecurity" It took a humiliating military defeat, crushing sanctions, and a historic economic collapse to turn Germany fascist. All it took in the United States was the election of one Black president.— New York Times Pitchbot (@DougJBalloon) November 15, 2024
I'm just watching Biden's speech about the supreme court. It seems there are several problems with it. Also there's something called 'Project 2025' which sounds problematic. Thank god we found out before Trump was elected into power.
Hey, is it a bad thing when a prospective AG and DNI can't be vetted by the F.B.I? Asking for a friend.
Biden and Harris have neither the spine or moral fiber to do any of this. They believe too strongly in the good government and strength of institutions to do that.
I watched that, (particularly the 'All our yesterday's' bit at the end), with a certain sense of disbelief at what I was seeing. I mean, he didn't actually start talking about wearing an onion on his belt, (which was the custom at the time), but he wasn't far off.
I just don't get how someone who has access to more information than anyone else on Earth can be that naive. Surely his staffers are paying attention at least and briefing him. The alphabet soup? I can't believe people are going into the world's largest concentration camps, ever, and dying on mass, all because Biden was woefully naive. That's so...mundane
As part of my efforts to make sense of the Trump election I've been watching a few vids over the past few days and a couple have been interesting... That addresses the old idea that all fascists, including Trump voters, were what used to be called 'White trash'. As I've repeatedly said, the working class are more likely NOT to vote than vote for fascists. But this is nominally more up to date... Apparently there are not just the middle class and the rich. There are also these people called the working class... who knew?! Well, not anyone in the American political class, that's for sure.
