Yeah exactly. He slowly wore down the good one and not due to high impact tackle. It was bound to happen sooner or later but it's due to mismanagement from the player, physios and staff.
Davies appears to be done. Next we bring Gutierrez back and maybe kick out the imposters (sorry Fran, I like you but you aren't quite that good).
🚨 BREAKING: Alphonso Davies will SIGN his Real Madrid contract in January. @marca pic.twitter.com/MDQ4EnG1rz— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) November 15, 2024
The disrespect on Nacho by our own f*cking funs is unbelievable. Dude has been a top 5 defenders in the world for years, has played and performed great on all 4 positions of defense was excellent on every big game he needed to start or come from the bench and we see users here saying "we just need him to perform like Nacho". Okay good luck with that. The departures of especially Nacho and Kroos are the holes in the current team and our board decided to bring another lw (which is world class and I'm confident will turn this around we needed other reinforcements though).
Yup Baphomet (JFD) wrote that Davies is done. He'll sign in January apparently. I am on the fence regarding Davies, he's been poor for 2 seasons now. Truthfully, I prefer Gutierrez over him. Having Davies on the left and TAA on the right will imbalance the defense severely. That's the last thing we need right now. If Wirtz joins, Rodrygo is out imo. He's a brilliant player but we have far more pressing needs that must be addressed promptly but perhaps JAS is waiting till the entire defense get ACLs.
I don't know, Gutierrez is quite attacking also. Imo it won't be a problem as long as the side CMs cover for them and/or if the DM drops deep to form a back 3 at times. At the end of the day the game is about outscoring your opponent.
🚨 NEW: Real Madrid plan to make Raúl Asencio a PERMANENT part of the first team. He has a contract until 2026. @marca pic.twitter.com/vkEBZ4zdFF— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) November 15, 2024 🚨 Raúl Asencio will stay with the 1st team after the break. He’s ahead of Vallejo. The club wants to improve his salary & extend his contract, and no obstacles are expected. He’s grateful to the club for their patience in him & in the interest to renew his contract. @relevo pic.twitter.com/FKXXpN1sag— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) November 15, 2024
JFD says Mendy renewed his contract in 2024 summer. And with Davies arrival, Miguel Gutierrez return is ruled out. Fran García is being used more and more by Ancelotti. The starter is Mendy, who renewed his contract last summer, but the appearances of the youth team player have led him to play in twelve games so far this season. We must not forget either the option of buying back that Los Blancos has on Miguel Gutiérrez , but that for the moment is not planned to be executed, mainly due to the surplus of quota in the position, especially if the possible arrival of the Canadian is taken into account.
I'm not the biggest fan of Davies. And if Mendy really did extend, I'm disappointed (unless the plan is to sell which is fine). Imo Fran has gotten much better this season despite Carlo not giving him as many chances to prove it compared to Mendy.
I'm been a fan and supporter of Nacho since he was getting called up to the first team. That said he's not the same player anymore and I'm glad he left before his performances left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.
I understand that, but what is the risk of signing Ramos if he agrees to lower wages? Seriously? Asencio is also entangled with legal allegations right?
Ramos was offered a lifetime contract at Sevilla, which he turned down, looking for opportunities in the US and Saudi. Not only would agreeing to lower wages for us make him look like a huge hypocrite after holding a press conference to explain that, the bad press around it will probably not be worth it considering the current state of the player.
It also left a really bad taste with the club heirarchy. He first tried to leave when Saudi was offering crazy salary, and tried to strong arm Florentino and the board to leverage a better deal. They called his bluff and let him walk. Then he went to PSG and basically got free money for being injured multiple seasons. He might be a Madrid legend. But the way he left definitely was a sour note to the club board and some fans. I can see why Madrid would wanna avoid a walking PR shitstorm. Especially while the PR dept is already working OT with Mbappe and Vini causing all kinds of headlines.
Criminally underrated. I was always surprised how he performs after being on the bench for months and suddenly being forced to fill in against top opponents in CL. Nacho was one of a kind.
Davies agent said they have multiple club offers on the table as well as Bayern. Denies the agreement stuff.
Well, of course he will never admit anything. It would be bad negioations decision from his side. But IMO it's the same case that Davies prefer Madrid, of course if City will double wage, for example, he's gone
Can someone tell me how good (or not) this guy is? I haven’t seen him before (other than the recent game), and if I have, I can’t remember. Is this one of those ‘let’s just throw a (not so highly rated) cantera product out there for 1 of 2 games and then forget about him’ or is he someone that may be able to be of value as a dependable squad player. He’s almost 22 years old already.
Well that is true. But no one has actually given an argument what the risk is to the club is. He might be tempted with the chance to compete for big trophies again. Plus he might have come to the realization that the US and Saudi dont want him that much. I just see it as a high reward, low risk signing.
I know the current situation, which the club has steered towards for a few years, unfortunately. I wasn't trying to start that conversation. I was genuinely interested to hear about this guy from people that have seen him play and/or followed his youth career.
He has shown that his heart is not in the game anymore. He's simply trying to earn a retirement fund.
