this game has me ********ing pissed, I thought we were past this kind of crap but we reverted to the old days. Behaving like a tiny ass country with no players
one more thing, you could blame Davinson but the bigger issue is what happened after we conceded. Everyone's head fell apart and we completely gave up, meanwhile Uruguay pushed literally until the final kick even though they looked like crap and look it paid off because they ate up a bunch of people that had nothing inside them
After we tied it I was like good..because losing that game would have been unjust...but giving up that third we deserved to lose, so stupid.
1. Duran should have scored on 1 of his opportunities. 2. Lucho and James were both non factors 3. JFQ ran out of creativity / ideas by the time he got subbed out 4. Vargas had some great saves, but he should have communicated better with Davinson 5. Lack of depth showed, blame injuries or whatever…but it showed. 6. We looked too complacent in 2nd half. 1-0 is never a good enough lead.
we decided to randomly self implode and let these people win this was one of the most bizarre games ive ever seen anywhere
you cannot concede off kickoff deep into stoppage time after you just equalized in stoppage time, what kind of a ridiculous joke is this
Welp let’s hope for a win the next game which I see to be complicated after this display tonight . At least I’ll be at work .
Maybe Lorenzo had the Copa America semifinal in his head while preparing for this game. Remembering the sending off and the fighting and maybe he wanted to avoid that at all costs. So the players became too "cold chest" (lovely new expression haha). And were too afraid to really fight for the ball in these situations. Anyway RM does this every year against top opposition in CL winning in the last seconds, still this will take a long time to get over. It was inexcusable. Even if we manage to get a better starting lineup than Uruguay it will take a long time to get that same fighting spirit.
Dani Munoz was horrible today too, he was always nowhere to be found defensively. Always out of position, struggled completely the entire game to recover his position
What a frustrating game to watch BUT man what a great game....full of everything you can want (barring the loss). We kind of handed them the momentum and the win. Worst Diaz match I've seen from him. Same for Munoz. Borre and Mina need to leave the NT. But otherwise a very fun game of futbol.
Last night Díaz played like Cuadrado did for the 22 cycle: dribble, dribble, lose the ball, have no one to pass to…. lucho and anyone else with the ball should always have, at the minimum, two options to pass the ball to Unfortunately, losing Yerson and Cabal gave guys like Mina/Borja/Mojica a longer lifeline… I don’t have any issues with Mojica lately, but was hoping Cabal would start being a viable alternative. I’m still peeved at Mina/Portilla sub… why not Castaño or even Seb Gomez?
He played Mina as a 9, and he worked for the draw. The downside is that there was not a 5 for the ball that Pellistri crossed to the middle in the last play.
that Mina substitution was a waste of time, probably did it because we already had Borre the fake 9 playing and he sent Cordoba to the stands but all Yerry did was go in to piss off their players, nearly had a move called off because of VAR too.
Duran should have finished out that game. Mina offers a 'hail mary' goal but even hos power in the box isnt what it used to be. Lorenzo did the same with CA putting in Borre and Borja when we needed more burst, speed and good at breaking down defenses 1 v1 . Mina had no reason to be on that pitch. I'm starting to hate how long he takes to sub.
With the exception of the missed header early in the game, Duran produced very little and was manhandled by Uruguay’s CBs. But to keep things in perspective, Cordoba Missed 3 sitters against Bolivia, so chances are he would have been very ineffective as well. Gomez and Borre were subbed in to bring more movement and, except the goal, they looked lost and out of place, and since there was no other strikers in the bench, putting Yerry in at least gave us a target for crosses and free kicks. And it worked. Now, I agree that it should not have had to come down to the last two plays, and I also think that Lorenzo is making very late and questionable substitutions, and in close games like this one, it’s actually hurting the team.
