I don’t hope for a continuation of cancel culture. Trump’s supporters do not want that either. They want a level playing field. The goal is justice, not retribution. The left knows full well what they have been doing for years. They wrote about abandoning norms in WaPo, NYT, and laid the groundwork for people to break laws and to abuse their power to persecute Trump supporters, RFK supporters…anyone who did not adopt whatever the current thing was. However, this woman’s judgment is clearly very poor and is not reflective of what anyone should want as leadership in their company. I think that these types have been tolerated simply because the left wing government radicals threatened companies and basically forced these people to the helm in the same way that mafioso threatened companies to have mafia friendly leadership so that they got their cut. This is not an exaggeration, it’s literally one of the tactics radical leftists have had underground “academic” papers written on and that they have instituted through people like Saul Alinsky. I guarantee that there are people at that mag who have been looking for an excuse to cut this lady loose.

This is a very solid analysis of the root causes of Trump's rise. The total refusal of most on the left to even begin to engage with the underlying concerns expressed here is why they are in the position they are in. It actually wouldn't be that hard to get a successful alternative to Trump if they seriously considered these concerns and actively dealt with them. But they won't even look in the mirror, and instead prefer to just cuss out anyone who asks them to do so. It is what it is.

They didn’t look in the mirror in 2016 and were emboldened in 2020. They are so out of touch with Joe Shmoe that they thought regular folks would buy into their obviously-intentioned “misinformation/disinformation” censorship operation to handle opposition narratives that have been reflective of the will of the people for some time (hence the rise of populism). So instead of reacting to changing cultures and opinions (Starr County, Texas was as blue as Marthas Vineyard just years ago), they chose to dedicate entire institutions to censoring opposition narratives. The freaking FBI, CIA, DIA, and CISA were all involved in censoring opposition narratives. The only people stupid enough to accept this as a reasonable way to deal with differing opinions were hard core leftists. The democrat censorship industrial complex was a bridge too far for most of the libertarian leftists, who became RFK jr and Trump voters. There is an underreported group of importance in this election of disaffected leftists who the democrats alienated with war, forced vaccinations, and mass censorship.
