As a 49ers fan, I’m glad that the Fish (of whom I’m usually neutral toward) weren’t squished today. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G

Wow. No explanation offered. Tolbert was funny. Lund annoying. But KNBR could stand to have some soccer and hockey banter. Greg Papa survives, but he’s from Buffalo so he’s untouchable.
I heard about their firing on KNBR only an hour or two ago, but there was no mention of any reasons why. Tolbert wasn’t on the air today, but it was mentioned that he’ll return tomorrow for a final appearance. On the other hand, I have no idea if John Lund will return for one more show (even though he was on earlier today). GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I used to listen to KNBR when I was driving and, on the road, but haven't tuned in the last 5-6 years. Paulie Mac or Paul McCaffrey of the “Murph and Mac” morning show was laid off by KNBR last November, I never found out what exactly happened with him. Murph and Mac talked about soccer with some enthusiasm, but Tolbert seemed like he was forced to talk about when he had to and he has stated how much he hates the sport. You would think in this day and age with two World Cup tournaments almost having been completed in 32 years and a 50 year tradition of professional soccer in the Bay Area, this type of soccer hate will have subsided by now but it still has not.
28 years is a long run. I think by now his act has gotten incredibly tired and stale. And no one actually remembers or cares that he played hoops.
I remember Tolbert’s first few broadcasts in 1996. He had just retired from playing and started working at KNBR. They asked him if he would be going to the Warriors home game and he sad, “no way”! I forget the actual reason but I think he said something like he would rather stay in with his family.
Santa Claus at the local L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (the closest I’ll likely ever get to being able to visit Hawaii ) : I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s close to what Santa looks like on the Southern Hemisphere since both Gregorian and Julian Christmases are smack dab in the middle of summer there. In any case, now I’ll soon need to watch 2016’s Moana again for the first time in years on Disney+ before watching Moana 2 later this month. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
