So far this season, I would agree with you. He's been poor. Last season, as a mostly sub player, he was great for us and provided much needed goal production.

He hasn't been very good this season, but I still think this is a bit harsh. Nevertheless, given his age, contract status, etc., if the Saudis come back in with a good bid in January, I'd want the club to take it.

What I said was true last year as well. JR Smith had hot streaks too. He also dribbled the clock out in an nba final game because he didn’t know the score.

I wouldn’t be pro selling Trossard if we had better options in attack. We don’t and he can generate a lot of money.

I feel worse about our squad break dancer, Gabriel Jesus.

NBA references are lost on me. I'll occasionally check to see if the Hawks won and that's about it.
    :p
    Agree about Jesus.

I blame Anne Hathaway for Trossard changing as a player.

Trossard plays better for us as a sub. It's that "chip on your shoulder" attitude that steps up his game. When you plug him in as starter, he starts to drop off. If we can find an alternative in Jan, I would have no issue letting him go.

Like him too but I'm curious if he is ready to contribute for us. If we send out Trossard we need someone ready to contribute immediately.

yeah we are carrying too much deadweight to tolerate this sort of injury crisis.

Contrary to prior reports, I just heard Arseblog say that Odegaard did in fact go away with Norway. That may be unpopular, disappointing and nerve-wracking for us gooners, but it shouldn't be too big a surprise, especially considering that he's also captain for his nation.

Trossard can at least get goals

Jesus is a break dancer now.

Trossard has never been a good enough starter for us, its no surprise every single one of his best appearances for us has come off the bench.

He is depth. Not a starter.

He was assessed by the Norway training staff and they decided he will not play for them.

Excellent news! Now if he can just come back to London to work at Colney and with our coaching staff, instead of hanging out with his Norway teammates for moral support.

That guy fell off so badly, it's really catastrophic to the team. No options off the bench. Sad times

To be fair Raygun got breaking removed from the Olympics, Jesus will never be that bad that teams delete the 9 position.

In other news (not quite so positive perhaps), Ben White supposedly underwent "minor knee surgery" this week, for something he'd been carrying for a while. I'm far from a knee expert but I'm wondering if it's cleaning up a meniscus tear or something. AFAIK the club has offered little if any detail.

Definitely makes me think of Jesus's periodic knee issues, his (similarly minor?) surgeries in the last few years, and how he hasn't quite been the same since.

Crossing fingers big time that he can be back to nearly 100% in a month or so. Otherwise or in the meantime we're gonna be seeing more of Partey & Timber in that RB spot. And depending on that, plus Calafiori's rehab, we might see some ripple effect on the LB spot as well.

    Yes that’s the consensus reporting.

Also, it’s obvious he’s been managing an injury for a very long time at this point. Probably for the best that he gets it taken care of.

Yeah, reading that as the consensus. But both Charles Watts and Tom Canton, on their respective pods, have pushed back a bit, saying they don't know where those reports are coming from as they haven't been able to get that timeframe confirmed.
