Might seem like a Lumpy thing (it does), but it’s not. Snopes says no. Anyway, one of Lumpy’s last rallies yesterday was in GA, under the guise of “Women For Lumpy!” Wasn’t attended by his wife or daughter*. * (His Jan Brady daughter, Tiffany, was there, not Ivanka, the daughter he frequently fantasizes about banging).
He also named the wrong state in two of his rallies apparently. he also apparently refused to come out at a rally in Raleigh because it wasn't full. Now that could simply mean that people are just exhausted by this election in general, or a lot of his supporters have just lost interest because he has nothing of value to say whatsoever
His last few rallies have been to places he won last time. Comfort stops. His crowds are less er fewer. Even his own are tiring of his schtick and waiting a couple of hours for him to turn up. Mrs Scouse has declared it a holiday and plans to watch Election Day on Telly. I’m lucky with dog walks and a footy match.
The word from more than a few reporters who poll the early leavers and later arrivers is a combination of heard it all before, boring and too negative all the time. As many of us on the other side have often wondered, saturation point has finally been reached.
Politico reporting that private polling (didn’t say who) has shown that the Selzer poll in Iowa is no outlier. Doesn’t mean Harris will win, but the belief is that Iowa is in play. Primarily, perhaps exclusively, because a very restrictive abortion ban (6 weeks, no exceptions) has just gone into place.
I take that as a good sign. Even though Lumpy has been courting the young, single males that typically don't turn out.
They have been actively courting the bro/UFC vote because they know they’re on a hammering to nothing with women under 35.
My understanding is that they’ve focused on it, push rather than pull. They’re actively chasing these guys, not assuming Field Of Dreams-like, build it and they will come. There’s a reason Dana White introduced Lumpy at the GOP convention when he was accepting the nomination. There’s a reason he did Joe Rogan. Perhaps what might be not quite as well known is that he (and Vance) also did quite a few local and wannabe Joe Rogans around the country, both on radio and podcast format. The Right Wing, as you might broadly call it, accounts for something like 9 of the top 10 political podcasts.
I forgot t post this yesterday, but it's all very well to bandy catch-phrases around - but the other d-word, the preceding d-word, should have always mattered more...... How many swamp-drain-wannabe-tossers can or could actually "define" the so-called swamp. And where it specifically fails? What types of quicksand drags you down in it, and what's the reasonable fix to all same....?
Are any of them wearing Marc Anthony T-shirts? If so it might well be omelette time for Humpty Dumbpty......
My polling place in Lancaster had a short line this morning. I've never had to stand in any line at all before today. I interviewed political analyst and activist Charlotte Clymer for our show recently. She wrote this piece for election day and is predicting a landslide for Harris-Walz. https://charlotteclymer.substack.co...3&isFreemail=true&r=1uhbbr&triedRedirect=true
Pretty thorough - and I hope all true. She is biased of course - but I understand some of her bases for the predictions she is making.
Is is "biased" to be biased against made up nonsense? When your bias is simply for prior standards of normalcy? The problem being that what som "fear" is made up nonsense to overly fear, as opposed to real vindictive problems that you will be forced to fear. As therein this...... https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/cy9j0drg4yno
Lumpy claiming huge fraud in Philadelphia with cops on the way. No one, including the Philly PD, has any idea what he’s talking about.
I voted early (last Friday) in MI. It was amazingly busy, probably busier than most times I’ve gone for normal Election Day voting during a Presidential election. This is just outside of Ann Arbor, so we are probably 70-80% democratic voters, but I did stand behind a family of three (parents and a daughter) who were going on about someone they knew on Facebook who had posted about them shipping in voters from other places . No idea how they voted, but that people would actually believe anything they see on Facebook at this point… ugh.
If you are liable to believe Donald trump then whatever nonsense you come across on Putin-book is hardly likely to turn you into Sherlock Holmes.... ugh indeed....
