🚨 Exclusive: Inter Miami set to qualify for the Club World Cup with confirmation expected this month. Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium likely to host the opening game.https://t.co/ZkIzQucKrY— Ben Jacobs (@JacobsBen) October 3, 2024 Indeed FIFA did not wait long. If someone else had won the Supporters Shield I imagine they would have waited to see if Miami won MLS Cup.
Crazy to think that Inter Miami went from “would have been relegated” last year to champions this year.
Obviously Messi and friends helped, but them signing a ton of depth and having said guys perform while Messi was out (iirc they actually have a better PPG while Messi was out) helped immensely. Their season last year torpedoed because one of their best players got injured for the year in like matchday 2 and they didn't have the depth to fully recover.
Yeah while clearly Messi also allowed Miami to sign some young South American players they likely would never sign, the development of Benja Cremaschi, David Ruiz, Noah Allen, Ian Frey, and Yannick Bright have been immense as well
Just given the large South American immigrant communities in South Florida, overall interest in the sport, and Miami itself being a large producer of professional athletes Inter Miami should have one of the better talent pools to draw from for their academy.
Big match for the Philly homegrowns. Right now they're one position out of the playoffs. Nathan Harriel ('01), Leon Flach ('01), and Quinn Sullivan ('04) start for Philadelphia Union, while Andrew Rick ('06), Jack McGlynn ('03), and Cavan Sullivan ('09) are on the bench.#usmnt https://t.co/t5JCjJucDl— USMNT Report 🇺🇸🇹🇷 (@USMNTReport) October 5, 2024
Right place at the right time for Nathan Harriel and @PhilaUnion are right back in it! 👊 pic.twitter.com/U7xLsqrRAn— Major League Soccer (@MLS) October 6, 2024

Good game for some of the young players of Philly, but also a lost opportunity from a playoffs point of view. Not an easy game against one of the best teams in the conference on the road. Still..................a lost opportunity. Philly has a game in hand over TFC for that last playoff spot. They've got the playoffs within reach. It's in their hands. Their remaining game is against another good team, however. Cincinnati. I really do think they're a better team than the couple of teams ahead of them in the standings. TFC and Montreal for sure. They've scored significantly more goals than those teams. They've conceded fewer goals than those teams. And yet here we are. In fact, they've scored more goals than Cincinnati and LAFC. They have the profile of a playoff team. They have the profile of one that could cause some damage. They just have to get there. They dug themselves a deep hole in the first half of the season.

Ngoma was such a well, welll regarded youth player and has such injury problems. Still a U20. 🇺🇸 Serge Ngoma (‘05) scores his first NYRB goal in over 2 years 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/luH4JNAycq— American Ultras Talk (@ameriultrastalk) October 6, 2024
A player moving up the goal-scoring charts for US-eligible players. Patrick Agyemang of Charlotte. First round draft pick in 2023. Born in the US to Ghanaian parents. Quietly. Very quietly............has 9 goals and 5 assists on the season. He's a big boy. Listed at 6'4" and moves like that. After their worst-ever start through nine games (1-5-3), Sounders have already equaled their fifth-highest point total ever (56). Their +16 goal-difference would also be their fifth best ever.— Jeremiah Oshan (@JeremiahOshan) October 6, 2024 The most American driven team in the league too. Jordan Morris and Roldan are playing about as well as ever. They probably won’t be called up anytime soon but it’s not because they aren’t playing well. Look at the explosion from Morris, all the people who lied and said he’d lost it should be ashamed. Wasn’t aware until this that he is US-eligible, nor Arfsten until recently. Gotta add them to the goal contributions post
Jack just topped the list for xPass on American Soccer Analysis | App if you filter out all positions except CM. Congrats to Jack !
Morris is being Morris, MLS is a good level for him. What exactly is Roldan doing that deserves a callup? Is he playing better that Djordje, Cole Basset, Tim Tillman, Diego Luna, Brian White, ...
