I think we played the offside trap well all game so Carlo didn't wanna switch to low block. Rudiger was a tad late in stepping up.

Yeah don't like his decision making either. Has great passes here and there but not consistently.

Also - I have an axe to grind with these goddamn 9pm sunday night kickoffs. Firstly, we always seem to play like shit when it's so late. Secondly, it ruins the mood of the whole weekend when we drop points. And lastly, even if we do win, then you stay up for a couple of hours afterwards reading the reactions and have to be sleepy at work the next day. Just have a 7pm kickoff ffs

Continuing the rant, why do our own ex-players always turn out to be such knobs? Llorente complete douche. Morata complete douche. Parejo complete douche. The holy trinity of idiots created in La Fabrica.

Monster defensive game by Tchouameni today.

Just needs to tidy up his passing more and he’ll be incredible.

I look forward to him playing with Cama, Jude and Fede. Carlo must try to make that midfield work for some games.

He was running back to help Dani on Lino, who was making a run. I think Vasquez was more there to help Dani, who is getting old. Valverde was out of position. That's the bottom line. It's part of his game to be super aggressive and sometimes it leaves gaps.

Militao and Rudiger getting burnt by one run was an issue too. Rudiger tried to play the offsides (late) and took himself out while Militao got burnt by an over-the-shoulder run. You can tell the difference between Ramos/Pepe/Varane calibre on plays like this. They may get burnt but they recover so crazy fast that it rarely ends up 1v1. I'm talking the older versions of Ramos and Pepe of course lol. They younger versions were a disaster.

6 at the back and we're playing the offside trap. Genius.

It’s like Carlo made the subs on the fly and the payers had no idea how to adapt.

True. At that point of the game, you need to keep everything in front of you.

Btw Endrick could have finished the game by squaring the ball to Jude instead of going all '66 Bobby Charlton..

Exactly. The super late changes the he (or Davide) made disoriented our entire backline positioning..

I was roasted here for being the only guy be saying Endrick should have been taken to task for that shot in the CL. Everyone here patted him on the back. I knew this would empower him to do that same bullshit again and it costs us 2 points.

Honestly i expected more people to be pissed like I am. This game was 4 mins from 3 points. Real Madrid, especially Carlo, Endrick and Rudiger shit the bed with a combination of poor decisions. Wtfever.

Do you know what squaring the ball even means?

I didn't like the subs by Carlo. I can't add much that isn't already being said. I didn't like taking Vinicius off at all, he's our most best player and this is too close a game and too dangerous an opponent to be using the subs as nothing more than a time wasting tactic.

I was confused AF when Lucas came on for Modric. I was certain Carvajal would be the next player off, then Fran comes off for Rodrygo. You can't throw a teenager out there in this kind of atmoshpere as the only attacking player, Atletico would eat the kid alive if given the chance.

The tactics bizarre too. At one point I saw Lucas on the touchline, square with the last defender no where close to being available for an oultel pass from our midflield and needless to say it resulted in a turnover because it looked almost like he was hiding from the ball.

For the goal, I can't blame Carlo because it seems like everybody did everything wrong. Half the team at the midfield line, Rudiger keeps his man onside, Courtois get beat near post by the player and the ball.

There was no guarantee Jude scores and you can't "square the ball" to a player well behind you

Indeed. Looking at the replay now, Jude was slightly behind him, no guarantee he would have scored but the odds are higher that he would have vs Endrick with that shot from that distance..

Or pass the ball to Jude, get in the box, Jude will probably square it to you..

I’m honestly unsure how this is such a big deal for some. There’s so much work to do, but you’d think Endrick missed a sitter. “Cost us 2 points.” Holy drama queens.

Exactly. It's the stupidest conclusion and only done because some already want to be critical of him and others need alow hanging fruit for blame game.

Our real issue was we subbed in two FBs really late and didn't hold shape (due to 2 FBs I'm sure playing in odd places).

The other real issue is atleti were rewarded for that nonsense they pulled. All this will do is embolden more in the future. Poorly ran league
