Jens Lehman was fined $150,000 for attacking his neighbor’s garage with a chainsaw. https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_...alkeeper-jens-lehmann-fined-chainsaw-incident Gotta be 162. Expansion is when they went from 154 to 162.
Them knives is for your steak and eggs! The only ne'er-do-wells I see are retired old guys who show up at the convenience store at 6AM. They're in there swapping stories when I get my breakfast on the way to work.
Yeah, the Irish and the Argies have one thing in common…they’re the two nations that British soldiers have fought and killed in, after WW II. Enemy of my enemy and all that.
I seem to recall a story about those two fanbases singing together at a World Cup "If ye hate the fookin' English 'cause they colonized yer country, if ye hate the fookin' English, clap yer hahnds.." Might have been the Scots and Argies. It may not have happened at all. Anyhow, that's not quite what I was implying. If I have to spell it out... the humorous part of that whole Argentine bus incident is that it featured a bunch of Desi Arnazes tossing racial slurs around- the only White man on the squad (Messi) was not on the bus.
The Argentine bus incident. They sang some racist tune, which included implying Kylian Mbappe has been having sex with a trans woman (or implied that the woman he's in a relationship with is trans. I can't recall which), and got called out on it. Messi was initially implicated, but he wasn't on the bus at the time.
You think it shows with THEM?? I live in a town that's disproportionately techy. Social skills are like four-leaf clovers.
the accompanying article notes that this is the first time Nagbe has been, despite all of his cup wins. Trump didn’t do this in 2018.
I went to several games a year (5 to 10) from about 85 to 92/93. The atmosphere was kind of hit or miss, and was definitely more lively in the outfield stands. There were quite a few drab games, but there were some surprisingly lively games as well. At least as I remember. Have no comparison to now, though the last baseball game I was at was a Brewers' game around 2016. It was drab, and by way of comparison, the previous game I was at was a Diamondbacks' game around 2006 which was more entertaining, mostly because it had more things geared to entertain the crowd.
Not sure what that thing is. Eggs, sausage, butter biscuit with grape jelly. And you get called "hon" instead of "mac"
Yeah, the Irish have always been our friends. We had a good number of Irish immigrants since colonial times, and they were very supportive during the 19th century independence, and during Britain's two attempts at invading Buenos Aires, in 1806 and 1807. And there's this, from The Wolfe Tones.
You’d have to throw a few countries in Africa in that list. Think Mau Mau insurgency etc. And of course British soldiers fought in Northern Ireland and the Falkland Islands anyway☺️. There was an attempt to bomb aircraft at an Argentinian airbase in Santa Fe (?) but it was a miserable failure and the SAS men ended up in Chile. So not sure that counts.
