Neither do I. He's too mentally unstable and easily provoked. In Barranquilla he's going to pick a fight with the argies from the first minute. But it doesn't seem like Lorenzo is too crazy about him either so don't think he'll play even if they call him. It'll probably be Cordoba + Borré as usual.

It's tough, he's just never gotten used to playing at the speed the EU based players do.

I think back to the final. He had the chance and in Colombia or Argentina or the Libertadores, I think he gets a shot on goal. But his reaction was a step slow. I genuinely think Sinisterra or Duran or Lucho get that shot off - just because they are conditioned to be faster by competition.

I think he generally has a cool head and is a solid finisher when he is on form.

I look at Borja a lot like the way I look at JuanFER.
In general they do well for Colombia and play with so much heart. A few lousy minutes in the Copa should not define their careers.
They have a role as long as they are playing well at club level and they both seem to be in good form.

I agree. I really wanted him on the roster before the Copa. But after seing him get into these stupid arguments and wasting time I felt like he's had his chance. He's a liability and NT games are few and far between, so we should focus trying to find someone new and younger.
To be honest Muñoz also has these weaknesses (2 stupid red cards vs bolivia and uruguay) but he's world class and means too much to the team so that's a risk we'll have to take.

I almost puked.... WTF are you talking about.... JFQ is a WC player, CL champ and 10000x the player than Borja will ever be, even with his career blips and Regaeton videos. He's actually a lot like James both in talent and in the choices he's made. And he's also had to battle plenty in his personal life. Get real.

Calm down, you sound kind of emotional. Breathe in and out slowly and gather your center. Puking because of an opinion sounds mentally unstable.

I am not comparing the caliber of player or past accomplishments. I simple alluded to it as me Looking at current situations in a similar vein. People are saying JuanFer should not be called up because how he looked in the few measly minutes he played the Copa America. To me that is unwise.
Just as it is unwise to say Borja should be judged on the few minutes he had in the Copa.

Now I hope this clarification helps with your ailments and queasiness.

I puke at the idea of having Borja on the NT for anything other than taking a PK.

The guy does not run or press, and that is what this team is built on. The striker ends up running about as much as our wingers do.

This is an observation not based on a few measly minutes at the Copa but Borja's entire career for Colombia.

You must take something for your emotional puking too.
We have plenty of strikers who can run around and press and they will likely start or be the main substitutes when Qualifying comes around.
There can be another role for him off the bench as a guy who can come in and play more as a traditional 9 and can score.
Coincidentally last cycle when we played Argentina he came in and scored in Barranquilla when we really needed a goal. That type of role is what I would not mind him being on the squad for.

If he is left off the roster I will also understand that too. I am just making my observations about what his role can be while his form is fantastic at River.

not a Borja fan for the NT but really respect what he's doing with RP and keeping the Colombian "brand" at a high level.
