As @CarlosKaiser alluded to, the one positive is they didn’t overhaul our goal difference advantage. So any result for West Ham coupled with any win for us will be enough. COYI.
Schadenfreude for those idiot Sp*rs fans who wanted their team to lose, would be for West Ham to take points off of City, giving Arsenal the title anyway with a win over Everton, Sp*rs to lose their final game, against Sheffield United and both Newcastle and Chelsea winning their last two to edge Tottenham out of the Europa League on goal difference. A million to one shot, but it would be sweet.
Bookmakers give Everton almost twice as good a chance of taking points off Arsenal (-550) as they give West Ham to take points off City (-1000). But hey, anything can happen, right?
One more layer--Mancs beat City in the FA cup to take a Europa slot. That would leave Spuds out of the Europa conference and Chelsea in it. Wonder what the odds are on that parlay--United over city, West ham draw, Spurs loss, Chelsea and Newcastle win 4 games.
Damn, it's certainly been a while, what have you been doing with yourself since 2020?? Any new . . . hobbies??
In other news to take my mind off the cluster******** that was watching another Spuds bottlejob in their toilet bowl stadium...
There is one reason and one reason only why this case is not settled yet. When the PL launched the procedure for the 115 charges, City made sure that it got stuck in the courts for almost 3 years challenging every technical aspect it could to delay it.A summary:… https://t.co/mprnVelohq— The Swedish Rumble 🔰 (@SwedishRumble) May 14, 2024
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Premier League clubs to vote on proposal to scrap VAR from next season. Resolution formally submitted by Wolves to abolish system + will be on agenda at June 6 AGM. Any rule change needs 2/3s majority (14 of 20 members) to pass @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/QXK5ZgP0Ht— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) May 15, 2024
that full text in that tweet is pretty incredible. I had no idea it took that long just for PL to get the data from City, and it certainly helps explain why the 115 charges may never be officially litigated.
Yep. On top of the 115 charges they need additional punishment for wasting everyone's time. In a "just world" if/when City is found guilty they would be forced to cut payroll and be relegated down to National League.
According to the timeline in the Swedish Rumble’s tweet the Court of Appeals dismissed City’s appeal on June 30, 2021, what’s been going on for the last 3 years? Once the appeal was dismissed any kind of prompt sanction at all and Arsenal could be working on its second consecutive title.
My assumption it’s reviewing all their financials, identifying the violations, and now building all the evidence since City have had 6+ years to prepare their legal defense.
Does anybody know anything about this ‘Swedish Rumble’ account? It all sounds reasonable and legitimate, but the fact their twitter handle is an obvious parody of Swiss Ramble gives me pause.
I couldn't agree more. The current state of American . . . . let's call it "public information" instead of "news media", puts me on notice anytime I read anything i know little about. So while I want to believe what I read above, I'm not close enough to the story to just accept it as fact. It's amazing to me how easy it is to steer public opinion in today's connected world. I look forward to pursuing supportive information on this narrative while combating the desire to pursue and understand 5,000 other narratives simultaneously. #2024problems

Hilarious how VAR typically works very well in other countries and at major tournaments, its just a massive dumpster fire in the league that has a referee "boys club" where VAR doesn't want to upset their mates on the pitch...
Here is why I don't take all the wailing very seriously. In fact, I inject the tears into my veins. Of course a commercial enterprise like City will litigate this to a standstill as much as they can. At the end of the day it is the failing of the League and the other EPL clubs to do anything about it that is the issue. IMO the league has no real interest in taking serious action here. Meanwhile they crush the little guys. It's been a joke ever since the Invincibles were sawn off by Putin's bagman buying titles. He got caught actually bunging 7m to Hazard's agent FFS. Nothing will happen about that clear cheating. Or the fact that 90% of the Liverpool team are on inhalers lolololz - a clean league my friends Fans got what they deserved when all this was accepted over 20 years ago. It's especially delicious the whining of Man U fans ... now run by Dave Brailsford - one of the biggest cheats in modern sports.
Which fans? Arsenal fans were definitely onboard with Wenger's warnings about what Abramovitch was doing.
