Yes, I think both ways can be good to see - the media ratings for the personal reactive viewpoint (but of course different people can disagree - we can potentially rate a performance higher or lower than a particular journalist), and the stat-based ratings (but they can be a bit mechanical, with no room for nuance and interpretation, and also the way the stats are used to create a rating has to be a bit imperfect maybe). Sofascore now has Euros games ratings on, derived from stats, so you can see the ones of Van Basten and Gullit from Euro 88! Marco van Basten stats and ratings | Sofascore (9.6 vs England, 7.9 vs W.Germany, 8.6 vs USSR in Final) Ruud Gullit stats and ratings | Sofascore (8.0 vs England, 7.6 both times vs USSR) When you click on a rating (the coloured box with a number in) you can see the breakdown of stats....and the heatmap for the players touches too.
for example .... Michel Platini .... for Juventus ... 224 matches ... 104 goals .... 100 assists .... ..or Johan Cruyff ... 720 matches ... 403 .. goals .... 358 or assists 360 .... for sure .... 300 + pre assists ...also .... tacklings ...too much .... 400 tacklings won ... and Michel Platini ... aswell ... is pretty good in tacklings won etc ....!!
both .Platini and Cruyff ... won Diego Armando Maradona ... the most of criterios .... only dribbles completed .. not .... maybe chances created too .... Cruyff ... 36 chances created ...1974... Diego Armando Maradona ... 27 ...1986.. Michel Platini ... 16 or 15 1982 !!!
........ is pretty good ... the report ...in general ... for example .... in the first match ... Dasaev .. was pretty well ... securing the victory for URSS .... against England .. ...Gullit .... by criterios of the Football Manager are ... 2 assists ... and 1 attacking set pieces ..( six yards ) in the third goal after ..Kieft Attacking near post .. ..... so participating all the goals ....in this match .... later ... against Ireland .... 1 ...pre-assist ... type ..2 he passes to Van Aerle .. later pass to Koeman ..shot from distance ... Kieft scores .... against Germany ... 1 Attack Movement ..( underlapping type ) ... in the second goal ;;; against West Germany .... later ...in the final ... 1 goal from powerful header ..... later Attack Movement ... (penalty area )...
against Rep of Ireland .... Paul Mcgrath ...great player ... as centerback ... the goal is like this ... England ...friendly ...! Gullit 1 classical pre-assist ... type 1. ... !!! against Ireland ... is type 2 by Football manager !!!
.......For you ... Who's the best ...between ... Marco van Basten vs .. C.Ronaldo..... and Ronaldo Nazario ?????
Yes, Platini's Euro 84 data is there too now interestingly (4 key passes/chances created vs both Belgium and Portugal, 8 out of 8 long passes accurate vs Yugoslavia for example, in addition to all the goals - of course in that team with Tigana and Giresse he was playing more attacking than his usual role even as the heatmaps indicate too) Michel Platini stats and ratings | Sofascore (his grades awarded being 7.4 vs Denmark, 10 vs Belgium, 8.2 vs Yugoslavia, 8.4 vs Portugal, 7.5 vs Spain = 8.3 on average - they scored Cruyff higher in the 1974 World Cup with an 8.74 average) Bergkamp's Euros ratings are good on there too Dennis Bergkamp stats and ratings | Sofascore vs Scotland 1992 - 7.9 (4/4 accurate long passes, 2 key passes) vs Denmark 1992 - 8.1 (6/7 successful dribbles, 1 key pass) vs Switzerland 1996 - 8.2 (4/6 successful dribbles, 3 key passes) Then in 2000 7.8 vs Czech Rebublic, 8.5 vs Denmark, 7.7 vs France, 9.7 vs Yugoslavia (7 key passes), 7.6 vs Italy = average of 8.26 so comparable to Platini 1984 actually!
........... yes ... it's pretty hard to say ...who's winning ... between them ... for sure .. but .... Marco van Basten ... tackling ... marking ... much better than Nazario .... Heading accuracy ... much better than Nazario .... Attacking Set Pieces ... and Def Set Pieces ... too ... Passing ..abit better ...than ... Nazario ... C.Ronaldo .... 84/85 ... the best passer of eredivisie .. with 20 assists .... in Italy .. the best passer from Serie A Calcio ... with 13 or 11 assists ... !!!
that's pretty good ..... man !! great news ..;;; i'm a big fan of Puck van heel ..... for my passion and love for the Football from Holland !
Yes, I can easily understand in the short time you've been posting that you were a fan of Dutch football (especially in the 80s I guess, but I guess also a fan of 'Total Football' from the 70s). Particularly a fan of Gullit I think, but it seems like you enjoyed the Eredevisie whenever you could watch action from it during the 80s in general (hence knowing about Van Basten assisting goals etc).
Interesting thoughts mate! Notable the recognition you give to old-time Argentinian players (yourself being Brazilian of course), as well as how highly you think of Gullit. To be honest I don't think I ever heard of Terry Fox (I suppose I was very young when he was in his famous period - when I was a little older I knew some marathon runners and of course middle distance runners but I never heard about his exploits. It seems like as a person he would likely be a more suitable candidate as Canada's greatest sportsman than Gretzky for example, in many respects). Maybe this thread will be interesting to you if you didn't know about it: I made a few contributions but was out of my comfort zone a bit I suppose and also when comparing various sports surely it becomes even more difficult to pick out the best/greatest ever participants (not only not being able to have seen enough footage, but how to value the popularity of the sport, 'difficulty' of the sport etc etc...) Pele vs. Michael Jordan | Page 14 | BigSoccer Forum
....yes ....Terry Fox ... was died .. too much young ... with osteosarcoma cancer pretty harder ..... he came out ...to the marathon of hope.... in ... 1980 or 1981 ... later ... he was died as soon as possible ....for me he's the best sportman of all times ... by positive impact .... he gaves the him life for us on Earth ... cancer's cure !!!
.... yes .... Vicente feola ... coach for Brazilian National team ..in 1958 and 1962 .... describes ... him as the most total footballer of all time ....Antonio Sastre .... really... i saw ...him playing ... is genius ... and total footballer .... right -midfielder amazing ...!!!
......... I prefer MichaelJordan ... because ... in football soccer ...are 11 players ... i mean ...it's easier to realize the impact ..of every player or athlete .... who was the most important ... to the teams ... or equally ... all alone ... or individual sports !!!!
...... is pretty cool man !!! .... i'm doing ...running races ... all the days here in Brazil .... in São Paulo city !!! do you do sports friend in England ???? daily ???
He would be in your idea of All-Time Argentina I guess? It is very difficult for me to suggest their XI, because it is hard (despite some footage existing) to really get a good idea about such players as him, Pedernera, Moreno, Loustau, Sosa etc in comparison to more modern players. So I wouldn't be confident to say which of these teams I think would be better (in let's say a 'time machine' scenario but with some equalisation/acclimatisation allowed to account for different training schedules/diets or whatever as well as tactics): Fillol; Zanetti, Ruggeri, Passarella, Marzolini; Ardiles, Redondo; Messi, Di Stefano, Maradona; Kempes Or Carizzo; Sosa, Perfumo, Sacchi, Marzolini; Sastre, Redondo, Pedernera/Moreno; Messi, Di Stefano, Maradona
Well done mate! No, haha, not daily. Maybe when I was at school (if counting football during lunch-times or after school)! I did decide to take a bit more care of my diet, and pay a bit more attention to keeping fit though again in recent years, compared to in my 30s I guess (even playing squash a bit for the first time) but I did sports more in general (for fun/leisure mainly - in terms of competitive for any team maybe my peak would be as a 10-year old haha as a kind of roaming striker in 6-a-side tournaments/friendlies with other schools!) in my teens and early 20s (some tennis in later 20s though for example too).
By the way @Wiliam Felipe Gracek thanks for the comments on this video (I did realise who you were of course) Best 3 goals, 2 assists* of batch 3 of a selection of top players of the 2nd half of 20th century (youtube.com)
....... yes it's harder to say and call up ...Argentina National Team ... of all time ... really ... so many many players .. from too much quality ..... well... Angelillo ...Sivori ...Corbatta ...Humberto Maschio ...were really amazing too !!! ... Angel La Bruna ... was a extraordinary player ... Peucelle ..Orsi ... Luis Monti .. etc ..... the own ..Alfredo Di Stefano .. said : they were better than me ... easily... he spoken ... about ... Moreno ...La Bruna ... Peucelle ....Sastre .....Pedernera ... !!!
... for less and by the way .... you will be trying ..to keep ..his form ..always much better .. well.... keep going man !!! ... you can do this man !!! for sure !!!
