Layne and Chris are on my 'legend' list... The 2015 Cornell (solo acoustic) show at the Chicago Theater was the last 'live connection' I had with that vibe...and it was epic.
Yes, yes you should. That would be great. Please translate the current political situation to metal. Translate the trans "debate" to metal. Translate the abortion debacle to metal. In music, pretty much everything can be translated to metal and should be. I would start with the Beatle's "Blackbird."
The Damned, Bar Stool Preachers (UK ska/punk band fronted by Colin McFaull's boy, TJ), Husker Du, UltraBomb., Black Flag, and Minor Threat are on my playlist today. Saw The Damned on Halloween night in NYC. Stayed in the Hotel Chelsea. Room 1F, half of the old room 100 (Sid's room), the half with the bathroom where she bled out. A lotta strange shit happened the second that I walked through the front doors. The Damned's latest album is pretty pedestrian pop for guys our age, I spose, Ultrabomb, comprised of members of Huisker Du, UK Subs, and Mahones, ... that shit's fire, as BSPs. UltraBomb and the BSPs were at Reggie's in May, and the BSPs returned in early October in support off Grade 2, the Rumjacks, and Murphy's Law..Best small venue show that I ever attended in both cases..
seen them in Hobart last year. Wanted to make a 3-day, but Rockford's roof collapsed and killed some peeps, and the mood was lost. They're playing 2 local shows in March, a repeat of last year's "My War." Tour. My favorite album by them. I plan on going to both.
