"Senegal and Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane will not take part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, his country's federation announced on Thursday. Despite the injury, Mane was still included in the Senegal squad for the World Cup and was expected to miss at least their first game of the tournament against the Netherlands on Nov. 20. However, the team revealed in a news conference on Thursday that further scans on the two-time African player of the year showed he would require surgery for the injury and would not be able to play in Qatar." https://www.espn.com/soccer/senegal...riker-sadio-mane-out-of-world-cup-with-injury
What's up everybody? I haven't posted in years...but it's a good day to start again! My thoughts? I think we made Qatar look worse than they are. They will give Senegal and Holland a harder fight. They couldn't cope with our physicality and aggressiveness. I think we have a good chance of making the next round and we will give any team a match.
There is a prediction contest for the knockout stage. Whoever is interested feel free to join and predict the Round of 16 fixtures by naming the eight winners with (N) => in normal time (E) => in extra time (P) => on penalties Post# 3218 https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/m...redictions-what-do-you-think.2120305/page-129
Is it me or this ball rolls slow? I noticed when players do back passes towards defenders, it’s hard for them to reach it? still haven’t seen shots from outside.
We have a really nice semifinal set up....multiple great stories are up ahead to possibly be told.... If Argentina goes to the finals, Messi gets a second chance to lift his first (and last) WC trophy. If Croatia and Morocco pull upsets to advance to the finals, we'll have a new winner. If France advances to the final, they will be the only back-to-back winner since Brazil's 1958 and 1962 titles. Cut it any way you like, we're seeing historic matches. Thus far- Morocco is the first African/Arab semifinalist. Croatia joins the semis for a second time- also a consecutive appearance. Argentina comes back for the first time since 2014. France appears for a second consecutive time.
Unfortunately. My predictions went from being very solid down the toilet in the quarterfinals. Thing is that you will hardly find anyone who has more than two semi-finalists correct. This tournament panned out in a weird way.
Group phase too. I think you got one right in each of of who advanced beside maybe Holland/Senegal and Croatia/Morocco. Netherlands Senegal England Wales (USA) Argentina Mexico (Poland) Denmark (Australia) France Spain Germany (Japan) Morocco Croatia Brazil Serbia (Switzerland) Portugal Uruguay (S Korea) To be fair, who would have thought S Korea, Japan, Morocco (good job) and Australia would have surpassed, Uruguay, Germany and Denmark, etc.
