I found myself in DC this week for work and was stuck in traffic in my uber at one point with National Park on my right (right before a game) with tons of fans milling about, and off to my left very close by was Audi field. It looks nice. The location seems pretty good to this non local with a clearly improving neighborhood nearby and plenty of foot traffic heading to games (baseball anyway).

    I'm happy for DC.

It's like, with each successive rendering they're pursuing an ever more precarious position till it all ends in bedlam.

The field in D.C. just does not look wide enough to me. I'm hoping it's an optical illusion from the cam.

Update: OK. Now that the lines are on the field it looks better. Whew!

One thing that looks cool about the DC stadium is the deep incline of the seats. Will seem like fans are right on the field. Has the potential to be a great home field advantage.

With the addition of Joe Mansuteo to the FIRE ownership group buying 49% of the team. Hopefully Joe is in talks with Andi to buy out the rest of the team to become 100% owner, he could look into getting a downtown stadium.

Ricketts is investing in a USL team to play in Lincoln Yards, maybe Joe and Tom become 50/50 partners as FIRE owners. Maybe the both of them have enough pull to get a downtown stadium built. Play in TOYOTA Park to it's built, them buy out the rest of the contract and move into the downtown stadium. Yeah I'm probably dreaming, but I thought I'd never see Andi sell any part of the team and he has.

IS Chicago one of those cities where Downtown matters? Is Downtown an area lots of people go to for entertainment?

Don't be an idiot. Not everyone knows shit about your "great" city. Maybe it's known as a great place to get murdered?

WOW!!!! Relax, just asking you a question. Yes 99.9% of us would kill for a stadium downtown and yes people do get killed their. We are after all the third largest city in the US.

I don't think so. Stands that steep wouldn't be allowed in England, health and safety you know!

I think in general stadiums in Europe are less step than they used to be, Germany excepted. I may be wrong.

Boca Juniors on the other hand...

MLS already has decent atmosphere compared to the rest of the world. It's just not very tense because MLS fans tend to be more positive (supporting their team) than negative (destroying opposing team's busses).

How do you get hit by a railing? I could see how you could hit a railing but not get hit by one.
